At the beginning of "The Incident Part 1" we see two men talking next to the statue. We find out one is Jacob, who is the other guy?
I have seen the second part of The Incident so I know there is a bit more about him to come, but I still dont know who he is.
Any theories? Have we heard of someone else who I have forgotten about? |

| Considering the Egyptian references to Jacob being linked to Tawaret (protectoress of the vulnerable, especially women and children), it is likely that his rival is linked to some rival Egyptian deity, perhaps Sobek. It's shaping up to be a sort of Zoolander situation, with immortals slugging it out through time using mortals as their puppets and playthings. Mr Eyeliner probably really is Egyptian. |

I like your theory. When you click on that link and read through it, it does make it sound like he could be Smokey.
I guess we will just have to wait and see. |

Yeah, I just hate how we will have to wait so long.
By the way, did you pick your username from the french words? or was it just a random name.
Just curiousity because I'm learning fench at the moment so I like spotting french words occasionally haha |

| I just like the word. And I like that the spelling and pronunciation are different. It's a pain to give my email address to anyone though, I usually end up spelling to to avoid confusion! |

| I thought that the guy in black was the smoke monster. Because of 'the rules', he can't kill Jacob himself, but he is looking for a loophole to cause Jacob's death by someone else's hand. When 316 crashes, the smoke monster takes the form of Locke and brings Ben to the temple, where they get separated. Notice that 'Locke' is out of sight when the smoke appears. It then takes the form of Alex to order Ben to follow Locke/the monster's instructions. The smoke monster then reappears in the form of Locke, takes Ben to Richard, then goes to the statue and orders Ben to kill Jacob. Jacob is dead, his enemy has gotten what he wants but didn't have to do it himself. |
