Seeing as Charles knew Mrs Hawking personally, and even knew exactly where Desmond could find her, it would make sense that he would have sought her help in his attempts to return to the island after his banishment. Clearly she didn't help him, although she had the ability to since she helped Ben return.
When she was informed by Ben that the 72 hours he had to reunite the Oceanic 6 wasn't enough, I think she did a deal with the only other person who could help her. Charles could have arranged for Hurley to be on flight 316, and probably had a hand in Sayid's capture as well. However, in obtaining his assistance, Mrs Hawking probably agreed to help him return to the island himself. I reckon we'll be seeing him there soon. |
