Ben shows Locke a tape of a blindfolded man being beaten and put in the back of a car by Widmore and his thugs. Widmore looks up at the camera as the tape ends. I believe that the blindfolded man was Jeremy/John and that Locke was actually watching his future death. I also believe Ben was the one filming it all.
