| The Bermuda triangle thing is a natural occuring phenomenon so it is quite possible for it to exist in another location on the planet somewhere. There might even be a few of them getting around the place. |

| It has been confirmed that it is methane gas pockets that make the ships and planes disappear. I saw this on a documentary a few years ago. |

| zbrs: You are right about the methane gas theory. Turned out there was nothing mysterious about the Bermuda Triangle after all. Still funny to discuss though ... :) |

| i think the electromagnetic caused the plane crash, even Desmond think so as well. The electromagnetic probably overloaded the planes computers and electronics and caused the plane to crash, just like EMP would destroy any electronic in the blast radius. |

| lostchess: I agree with you on the electricmagnetic theory. It is a shield that protects the island from outside interference. |

| the electromagnetic shield i think there is no shield. Because there was a food drop, if there was a electromagnetic shield, it would if made that plane crash as well. But if you don't push the button the burst of electromagnetic (just like what i said before on EMP) crashed the plane. |

| The supply plane would only have crashed if it had hit the shield which it didn't because it knew how high to fly. The Oceanic flight 815 hit the field and therefore crashed. I think. |

| I don't think there is a shield. The supply plane or whatever it is, that drops the food is made of plastic or some knid of metal that isn't magnetic, making it invincible(I couldn't find another word) to the magnets. |

| planes can't be really made of plastics on the exterior of the plane and also the wiring in the computer and electronics are not made of plastic except for the wire insulations. |

it's just a theory to do with the guy in the mental place that says the numbers over and over again
Leonard and Sam Toomey could have been 2 people running the hatch at some point in the past. Being Naval Officers could have just been their cover story. This would explain how Leonard knows the numbers (and passes them on to Hurley). This would also explain why Leonard and Sam went nuts!
Leonard and Sam Toomey may have been two of the member's of Danielle's science expedition. Rousseau may think they died on the island, but perhaps she is lying or mistaken. After all, there were 6 in the science expedition party, and only (possibly) 4 are known: Leonard and Sam may be the two unknowns. Since the expedition was lured to the island by hearing the numbers in the radio transmission, this would explain where they learned the numbers in the first place. However, their escape from the island would be a story unto itself. |

| yea the could be sopmething to do with the electormagnetic, but maybe as well as logging how many times it is pressed to make sure they are doing it. It like killing two birds with one stone. First it stop some 'indicent' for happening and as well as seeing if the occupants will press the button that not really sure why. |

| yea, where did the people on the radio get the numbers from? Could Dharma have sent the signal on purpose to to lure people there? or maybe Dharma could of sent the number as some sort of signal to the Widmore LAbs or the HAnso foundation which Daneille's ships radio picked up the signal, and start so sort of dominio effect with the numbers like: Dharma(?) -> to Danelle -> to Leonard -> to Hurley -> to the hatch. Something like that. What do you think? |

But, weren't Sam and Leonard stationed in an outpost in the Western Australian town of Kalgoorlie??? I thought they heard the numbers there.
But, hey, I could be just seeing or hearing things. |

I know why there is less people on these message boards these days. There are too many people giving out their personal information, like MSN addresses. This allows people to talk on MSN rather than here, on these message boards.
That's why I think this place is deserted. |

Here's my theory- I was looking at all the random websites on friday, and came across (from a link in the Oceanic site) a page for the Santa Rosa Institute. They are into genetic research and manufacturing pharmaceuticals- particuar area of interest is prolonging human life.
Hurley was at a place called Santa Rosa- does anyone know if they have EVER actually said it was an "Institution"? What if it is the same company- Santa Rosa, and that the island inhabitants are subjects in elaborate experiments? They could have all passed through similar places as Hurley, where they were kept heavily medicated. We already know that the Shrink lady was there. They easily could have been admitted (ie- Charlie was into drugs, Ana Lucia killed someone- also lost a baby, Jack had a failed marriage, Locke has abandonment issues, Sawyer is all round bad and so on and so forth) to what they thought was an institution. Just an idea, shoot it down, give me some feedback!! |

| yea but i do no remember seeing Jack, Ana Lucia, Locke and Sawyer being in the Insititution. I've only see Libby and Hurley in the institution, it also evident when Hurley and Libby were doing the laundry in the hatch a few episode back, than hurley asked if he seen her before, than Libby replied hurley stepped on her toes, but Hurley obiviously forgotten. |
