| i think that the whole thing is a experiment. the others take away *kill* the bad people on the island. like on that episode where the *others* come and take the people from the other side of the island and the others had a list of people |

I have always thought of this show to be religious in some sense. Anyway, i have thought and still think they are lost in purgatory. And when they "die" they are fogiven and they go to a "better place". I think they all died on the plane crash and this is their chance...
This also explains a comment from Henry in the final of the season.
"In official Catholic teaching, every sin carries a temporal punishment. After death, people who had repented for their sins, but had not expiated ("paid for") them, are purged before entering Heaven. Everyone who enters Purgatory will eventually reach Heaven, therefore it is not some lesser form of Hell." |

Do not read on because it has possible spoilers in it. Don't say I didn't warn you.
I said "spoiler alert" for my theory because Desmond really did say that he might have crashed their plane. He checked the log and saw that on the 22 September 2004, he forgot to push the button, and as a result, nearly caused the hatch to explode. After pushing the button, he saved the hatch from blowing up just in time. |

I think this is all one big experiment to see how they react and get along with each other. They want to see who would be suitable to live in a perfect environment, where evrything is perfect: people's behaviour, the weather, animal behaviour, etc, etc.
In other words, who would be suitable to live in a perfect utopian society. |

| yea but the village the 'others' are living on the north side of the island don't look like a perfect society, the land look like it boring, no trees, no grass, etc... If i had i choice i would choose where the survivors (where the Swan Hatch is) to be like the perfect enviroment like it have bright green trees, grass, a nice long beach, a better hatch than the 'others', and how the suvivors live better on the island than the 'others'. |

| the burmuda triangle is in the atlantic. they're in the south pacific on an island with polar bears, insane french chicks, evil scientists, etc. then again..... sounds like hell |

| also cause if you look up brrmuda triangle its says a diver recorded its location and a range of magnetic feilds.. so maybe they are recreating a n=bermuda triangle from the inside thats why no one has some to get them...?? |
