| Ok. I thought of a theory that i have not heard before. Perhaps Lost is similar to the movie "The Truman Show." Thus, it is a reality show being watched by the outisde world, and the participants are unaware of this. Maybe even the outside world is unaware that it is really happening, because they think it is reality TV. This would explain the existence of hidden cameras that were revelaed at the station named "The Pearl." Perhaps Dharma airdrops food to the island when it sees they are running out, to keep the show going. Perhaps "The Others" are actors, aware of the show, which may explain why Walt cried out to his father, "they're not who they say they are." On the other hand, The Others might not even be aware and may be unwilling participants also. Any thoughts?? |

i have come up with the most realsitic theory when watching a documentary about the bermuda triangle! it occured to me that LOST is excactlly alike the bermuda triangle when i saw a documentary about the theories and dissappearances in florida. Here is a list of similarities:
-compasses are out of wack when travelling through the bermuda traingle and on the island!
-there is said to be a secret american testing centre under the water like in lost with all the dharma stuff.
-in the testing centre they do exrtreme stuff from trying to make things invisable to making land animals breath under water..(maybe this is why henry sed noone could see the island..because it is invisible?)and the testers are the others?
-there is electromagnetic forces coming from unknown sources in the bermuda traingle like in LOST
-why hasnt anyone found flight 815 yet? like all the mysterious dissapearances in the bermuda traingle.
there are more but i cant of them right now. either the producers got the idea from the bermuda traingle or it will turn out to be that they are part of the mystery of the bermuda triangle! what do you think? |

Here's my theory that takes in everything that has been mentioned.
United States of America and the Soviet Union nearly declared nuclear warfare on each other in the year 1962. After the Cuban Missile Crisis in Cuba, the two countries decided to work together on a solution to help benefit the human race. Under the supervision of the Unisted Nations Security Council, they came up with on solution: the well-known Valenzetti Equation, done by the world's greatest mathematician at that time, Enzo Valenzetti.
He took a year to make this equation, and when he finished it, he offered it to the UN Security Council. They didn't want it.
He offered it to the Soviet Union and the United States of America. They rejected it.
But, a man of gigantic proportions came along and wanted this apocolyptic equation. His name was Alvar Hanso.
Enzo gave his equation and its contents to Alvar, who conducted research based upon this. Then, he created the Hanso Foundation, which he established to do more extended research onto this equation. After the disappearance of Enzo Valenzetti in a plane that he flew from Naples to Paris, Alvar couldn't ask him for his assistance and the answer to this equation. So, he addressed the UN Security Council in 1967 to ask what this equation's answer was. But, they didn't know.
And the Hanso Foundation are still trying to find the answer, which may be on the island the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815 are on. That is why Mittelwerk wanted a boat that could go to a certain island or something along those lines. |

| no...no...no.. you are all wrong.If you want to know what the island is all about I will tell you. It all started sometime in the sixties I think with seven people boarding a small boat for a three hour cruise, thats right a three hour cruise.yeah you know who I mean now don't you. Anyway after being stuck on the island for many years a few of the castaways went insane from drinking fermented coconut milk and thats when things started to get weird.The castaways found they could not trust each other anymore, gilligan was hearing voices telling him to kill the skipper and that them being marooned on the island was his fault for being so stupid .The proffesor on the other hand started to make a radio transmitter but due to his growing psychosis he didn't transmitt anything but some jibberish about some numbers I think it was the amount of times he masturbated daily during the first week or something. Anyway they all went their sepparate ways over differant parts of the island and there they lived by themselves. One day a large ship had arrived and it turned out to be the thirston howell corporation. But alas, none of the castaways wanted to leave and had grown quite mad.So the howells deciced to build a number of hatches underground and conduct a number of science experiments under the supervision of the professor. They still didn't trust each other so they only communicated through those funky tube thingys and a couple of films with a one armed asian guy (thirsten howells suishi chef)later on down the track thirsten howell and the professor deciced to start bringing other people to the island why ??you may ask ???? just to F*#k with their heads thats why!!! but not just anyone oh no the professor wanted a specific list 1 a black kid with funky mental powers 2 a fat ex mental patient millionare 3 a con man with no friends 4 an Irqai solider 5 a rock star junky 6 a pregnant aussie tart 7 a bald guy in a wheel chair 8 an african drug runner turned priest |

| i wasnt exactly sure where to post this... but i just watched the latest ep of lost, the one with the foot, again... and when the metal doors come down preventing eko to get to locke, the sounds of the metal doors closing sounds EXACTLY like the noise the monster made near the beginning of the whole thing. so i believe that the place gets locked down whenever that monster comes out. i wonder since they closed the doors if the "monster" will come out... |

I'm new at this but bear with me. I don't know if anyone has posted this already...anyway.
A post that I saw near the beginning of this message board (By: ateam_helen 24/06/2006 12:23 pm) said amongst other things 'THERE ALL IN AN HUMAN EXPERIMENT TO SEE HOW HUMANS GET ALONG WHEN TRAPPED ON A ISLAND.' This got me thinking.
In English at school we recently did the book "The Lord of the Flies" by William Golding. If you haven't read it then in a nutshell it's about a group of boys are dropped on a desert island during a war after their plane is shot down. They split into 2 groups, a couple of the boys get killed as a result of fights between the 2 groups and they are eventually rescued. They are also scared of a 'beast' but no-one has actually seen it.
This to me sounds a great deal like Lost. Their plane wasn't shot down but they crashed on this deserted island. The two groups: Jack's group and the Others. Some people on the island have been killed as a result of hostilities between the 2 groups. The beast on the LotF island is just like the beast(s) on the Lost island. So it this seems very similar.
With all Sawyers reading and the relevance of his books I would not be suprised if he has or will read Lord of the Flies.
