| has anyone considered that the incident is just the magnetic force pulling all the metal into it and that the bomb doesnt go off coz we dont actually see it go off, the screen just goes white and its left at that. my thoughts are that the bomb doesnt go off and thats the reason why they end up having to push the button to stop it from going off coz the hatch explodes after desmund turns the key as we pieces of it go flying everywhere and theres a crater left where it was which we see in when sawyer and that come across it in the future. i wouldnt think that the magnetic force would do that. any thoughts? |

i rekon the bomb does go off cos if u think about it.... richard says to sun he watched them die..... also wen desmond turns the key in season 3.... he survives.... i dont think a person that close to the bomb would survive an atomic bomb goin off...
dsg is definitly locke in the future.... the thing im curious about is that dsg cant kill jacob.... which but he says he'll find a way.... ben has this same relationship with widmore.... they cant kill each other because of the rules.... so but seeing as ben wasnt special enough for jacob to visit.... is it possible that widmore may be on the right side?
im kinda happy juliet died.... wud of been worse if vincent had died in my opinion.... (please dont cry more sgjorgioski hahaha tool) good to see juliet and bernard.... and vincent....
so seeing as locke fell outta d window n looked pretty much dead.... wen jacob touched him he came back alive.... so wat does this make jacob? if his powers work off island.... could he be a god (probably fits in with the ancient egyptian setting)??? but then if he is a god... how cud a simple knife kill him??
and was christian on jacob or dsg's side?? i think dsg was christian.... this wud fit in with him guiding everyone to the current event... but if christian was dsg... could claire really have mutated into a tree frog?
can not wait for season 6. hope there is a new arg this break too... but makes u wonder... for season 6.... how could everything be answered??? |

I tend to think it was the loophole that allowed him to be killed. Whatever the "loophole" is...

Uh...I have no idea what the last line means but yes, to me, Christian was inhabited by DSG.

The writers have said time and time again that every little mystery won't be answered, but they will come to a good conclusion in terms of the character's stories, the BIG mysteries and the overall plot. |

It is possible that the resulting nuclear explosion could temporarily disable the electromagnetic force at the Incident. When a nuclear weapon is detonated, it emits an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that is produced when the gamma rays of the nuclear blast collide with electrons in the air molecules, causing the 'Compton Effect' where high energy electrons are expelled. These highly energetic electrons can cause other electrons to be ejected, causing a cascade effect, where one gamma ray can produce around 30,000 electrons (a lot!).
At low altitude explosions (or sub-surface, where the range of the blast effects can be reduced substantially), this Compton Effect can produce a very strong electromagnetic field, being very concentrated at the centre of the initial blast. This would result in voltage surges through electronics, such as wiring and even metallic objects. The EMP can even block radio and radar signals depending on the intensity of the blast.
So, is it possible that Juliet was successful in detonating the nuclear bomb, with the effect of temporarily disabling the electromagnetic force below the Swan Station for a particular amount of time (say 108 minutes), before they are able to cement everything up and find some way of discharging the electromagnetic energy?
And in a way, they prevent an 'Accident', resulting in the 'Incident'...whatever happened, happened...
But the question is then, if they are unable to control the electromagnetic energy (assuming that once they punctured the 'pocket' of energy, they cannot 'patch it up') then how does Desmond fix the problem by turning the key? Another nuclear weapon with permanent effects? |

The bomb couldn't have gone off!, why you ask, Radzinsky!!
he has to survive to be able to finish building the Swan Station and push the button, still not convinced the bomb didn't go off!!, well there Miles Dad (whose name escapes me at the moment, he has to survive to be able to record the videos that mention the "incident"

The bomb wouldn't have stopped 815 from crashing, why well
if the bomb stopped the plane well the "losties" wouldn't be on the island to be able to plant the bomb, so therefore the bomb was the incident, and why the good doctor (miles's dad) paused when he said "the incident" so as to not mention what happened so the losties wouldn't catch on what was in there future! |

Not necessarily. If the hole that they were drilling was long enough, the explosion could have been completely contained, meaning everyone survives, including Radzinsky. Using a scaled depth of burial, where burial depth in meteres is divided by the cube root of the yield in kilotons, where the end figure should be greater than 100 in order for the explosion to be contained.
ie.
Burial Depth
--------------- = <100
3v/Yeild in Kt
Where yield of a Jubhead is between 6 and 8 megatons (or 6000kt and 8000kt)
This would mean that the explosion would have had to gone off between 1.8km and 2km below the surface, in order for the nuclear explosion to be compeletly contained. IT IS POSSIBLE!
Whether Juliet was able to survive a 2km plummet is a completely different question...still don't know how she survived... |

after lengthy discussions, i've come to the conclusions
flight 316 & 815 could these be code for bible passages?
did any1 notice how the fake locke and jacob looked at each other when ben mentioned how locke was marched here like moses???
or the bar jacob handed jack "apollo" a greek god
is this all coincedence or sre these clues to what the show may be really about that island is infact a spiritual place like locke believed and that jacob is some kind of GOD, and richard is one of his trusty disciples???
just 1 of many theories i've come up with over the seasons but this 1 i believe may be the closest i've come up with to beibg correct |

ok, I dont know how this would work but...
Eloise is pregnant, and ethan was born so obviously the island isn't 'turning' on pegnant women yet. Ninja and others have suggested the statue stopped it happening, so...
Could the explosion destroy the statue somehow? I know radinsky etc survive so maybe earthquake? I dunno. But I think SOMEHOW it could lead to it |

| I think the statue was long gone before 1970's, I don't think the incident/explosion destroyed the statue, it was something else. Remember they were flashing in the beginning of the season, one flash the statue was there, the next flash it was gone, so was the well that Locke went down and they were in the 70's. Something happened after the purge to pregnant women, maybe it was the gas that they killed the Dharma initiative with, which wasn't until early 1990's. |
