Yeah its an educated guess. Ben did say he was going to kill Penny. When he left the church he left knowing that penny was nearby.(due to seeing desmond)He said to jack
BEN: Oh, I made a promise to an old friend of mine--just a loose end that needs tying up. See you at the airport, Jack.
The next time we see ben he is down by a Marina, covered in blood. It is a fair speculation. Why wouldn't he kill penny? He would, 'cause he wants to get at Charles and he wants Desmond back to the island. (Jess815 notice the apostrophie before cause. That was just for you) |

I doubt he killed Penny. I'm sure he tried, but he is not a cold blooded killer, perhaps Desmond appealed to his better nature. as for his injures....either he got in a fight with a prostitute who looked like Julliet, or he got hit by a car. hopefully a big car...
and i think Dan will die doing something extreely brave like getting everyone back to present. this will happen in the last episode, called the incident.you can just tell what it will be about... |

| Yes, he most likely TRIED to but he may not have succeeded. Why can't you grasp that concept? Why did he say he was "sidetracked"? Why did he sound scared and shaken? Because in my opinion, he was about to kill her, then Des came along and beat him up. |

| Daniel can't die before he talks to little charlotte. All they said in Namaste is that he is missing. Also we have already seen him at the construction of the Orchid, and they haven't started to build that yet. |

| Elose said "the island is not done with you" to desmond.Dan told Des where to find eloise so Des now knows where to go to get back to te island and kill Ben for killing penny.Ben is scared cause he knows Des will come after him.Des wouldnt go back if penny was alive. |

| Theory: Ben succeeds (or attempts) to kill Penny, causing Desmond to lapse into a fit of rage, teams up with Widmore, makes it back to the Island and kills 'younger' Ben (therefore ruling out the death of Sawyer or Faraday). This then means the Purge is prevented, which means the Others never take over the Barracks, leaving them run down like now what Sun and Lapidus see in 2007. AND Faraday's theory of not being able to change the future can still be valid, as Desmond is 'special' and 'unique', meaning he alone CAN change the timeline. |

| I think he may kill penny beacause in an earlier episode he confronted charles whitmoore and said he wanted him to know what it feels like to loose a daughter (one of charle's people killed bens daughter alex on the island) so i'd say it could be true |
