after watching episode one and two of season five i have a theory on the the whispers.
if you have watched the first epsiode you'd know that the island is now skipping through time. my theory is that the whispers are the voices of the losties that are left behind: sawyer, juliette ect. the leftbehinders stumble across the losties sometimes when the island skipps through time and is in the periode after the plane crash. due to the fact that Daniel told them they can't change the past they can't intract with the losties. the reason the whispers come out backwords is the universe course correcting so the losties when hearing the whispers dont understand what is being said.
i dont know if this theory makes sense. there are a few things though that may not add up in this theory. for one if the leftbehinders do find themselves in the time after the plane crash and are the voices of the whispers would that mean that when sawyer (for example)hears the whispers is it himself as the voice of the whispers.
what do you think? i hope i'm making some kind of sense |

| yes, my thoughts too, we know now the island is constantly in many different times, when sun arrives at the old dharma houses there are whispers in the background and thats where sawyer and co are now. Faraday also refered to the island as a skipping record while it was in time flux and sawyer i think made the coment, "the record isnt skipping anymore but we're on a different song" or somehting along those lines. the whispers could have happened when the island started "skipping" and now theyre hearing the residuals of it |

| i agree, but it sort of means that two seperate realities exist in one, which makes sense because when Sayid was a dharma captive he was handed a book along with a sandwich entitled "A Seperate Reality" by a young ben......this is confusing |
