ive got a theroie kind of.. sorry for my spelling..
Libby works for Charles Whidmore.... he is resposible for the oceonic plane crash, and puts libby on the plane to ensure all goes to plan........
Ok we all know desmond gets on the island cuz of Libby and her boat and what a Coincidence that he is going out with penny, charles whidmores daughter.. maybe charles handpicked desmond and set him up to go to the island, and the boat had a tracker so he can find out where the island is, when theat doesnt work he uses the plane crash |

My theorie is about character-development
Charlie had to die because he was attracted by the island for his heroin use, when he used for the second time on the island he had to die.
Ana Lucia Cortez was attracted to the island because she had killed out of revenge. And killed twice on the island.
Boone was attracted to the island because he couldn't lead his life without the golddigger-chick. He got one chance to let go when Lockk smeared him with the illusion stuff, seemed to get over it after what he felt (happy she died),but yet again he got jealous when Sayid banged her.
So down he goes.
The hot couple that got an episode, same thing, check it.
Michael left the island, but started going mental for doing so. He goes back and dies
Jack will die when he goes back, i bet he dies saving Sawyer.
