Dharma is and acronym! Reply to this message
Ok, I just read in TV Week that the producers JJ Abrams and Carlton Cruse have confirmed that Dharma is and acronym, but won't reveal what it stands for!

Anyone have any guesses???

The tools of molecular genetics have undergone revolutionary changes since the late 1970’s, and include the identification and use of restriction enzymes, cloning for recombinant DNA, vectors, probes, polymerase chain reaction, DNA sequence analysis and protein analysis

clonging.... 70s... i can recall that the dharma initiative started in the 70s..... dharma being an annagram for:

"Double Helix Anomalies Recombinant Molecular Array- has something to do with cloning. i think the cloning idea has just been proven guys."

note this stakement also: "A mutation is defined as any permanent change in the nucleotide sequence of DNA. They may be classified into three broad categories: genome mutations, chromosome mutations and gene mutation."

remember super strong ethan from series 1?

One thing a lot of people aren't taking into consideration. This project started in the 80's, so think realistically -- 80's technology. Space exploration was only founded around then...Whatever the answers are, they're simple yet complex. A paradox to themselves, why I love this show so much. <3 I don't think it'll be anything to do with a simulated environment. One thing I did notice is that Dharma also focuses on the standards for Utopian societies or something. Perhaps they're trying to make the perfect Utopia? A garden of eden, per ce? There are numerous possibilities.

Does anyone know much about Ba-Gua? In the Dharma industries website, click on the disclaimer link and it explains that " The logo of Dharma Industries is based on Ba-Gua.....". Info (from the Dharma site) here - http://www.circle-of-light.com/fengshui/bagua.html
The odd bit is that the sequence and orientation of the symbols is different to the normal diagram here (unrelated site)- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Eight_Trigrams. gif

Is the change of symbol sequence in the dharma logo relevant. Seems odd to me to change it. Has this been covered previously?

Re:Dharma is and acronym! Reply to this message
Dharma (Sanskrit धर्&#23 50;) or Dhamma (Pâli) means Natural Law or Reality, and with respect to its significance for spirituality and religion might be considered the Way of the Higher Truths. Dharma forms the basis for philosophies, beliefs and practices originating in India. The oldest of these, widely known as Hinduism, is Sanatana Dharma or Eternal Dharma. Ayyavazhi, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism also retain the centrality of Dharma. In these traditions, beings that live in harmony with Dharma proceed more quickly towards Moksha, Dharma Yukam, Nirvana, or personal liberation. Dharma also refers to the teachings and doctrines of the various founders of the traditions, such as Gautama Buddha in Buddhism and Mahavira in Jainism. As the religious and moral doctrine of the rights and duties of each individual, Dharma can refer generally to religious duty, and also mean social order, right conduct, or simply virtue.

Re:Dharma is and acronym! Reply to this message
if you go to http://www.dharmaindustries.com/ you are required to login to see whats there. I typed in http://www.dharmaindustries.com/home, http://www.dharmaindustries.com/index, http://www.dharmaindustries.com/lost, http://www.dharmaindustries.com/login,
http://www.dharmaindustries.com/hansofoundation,
when I tried the above, it gave me errors such as 'page could not be found'

then I tried

http://www.dharmaindustries.com/dharma
this gave me an error of 'HTTP 403 Forbidden' and the most likley causes as 'this website requires you to log in'

The address http://www.dharmaindustries.com/dharma is obviously a page you could go to after login; so, all we need is someone to find the password, or a web address like 'http://www.dharmaindustr ies.com/???' which you can view and doesn't give you an error saying you need to login.

What do you guys think. If anyone makes some progress email me at anthony.martin1987@yahoo. com.au
