In 'House of the Rising Sun' Charlie tells Locke that Oceanic made him check his guitar into the plane's cargo hold. In the Exodus Pt 3 flashback, however, we see Charlie carry the guitar onto the plane. Did the writers stuff up, is Charlie lying for some reason- or is there another explanation involving someone changing the past?
Also in that flashback, Hurley gets on the plane, gives Walt a thumbs-up to which Walt responds with a familiar grin, then sits down and starts reading the Flash comic- in Spanish. I think there's more to Hurley's back story than we've been told so far. Did he know Walt before the plane crash? And when did he learn Spanish? |

now this is just from memory so dont take my word but i'm sure that when charlie got on to the plane he had his guitar and after trying to make it fit in the side luggage compartment the airflight attendant took it from him so they might of put it in the cargo hold. it did also show up on the island where all the other cargo stuff fell.
and as for the other part of your post hurley just gave walt the thumbs up just as a gesture. he was late on the plane and walt was staring at him so he gace him the thumbs up and because of that walt smiles i doubt there is anything more to it. finnally walt also reads the comic on hte island and micheal asks him if he can read spanish walt says no but reads the comic because he likes the pictures. |

Actually, now that I've re-watched most of season two, there are quite a few inconsistencies in Charlie's flashbacks. Apart from the guitar on the plane and the non-swimming thing, there are contradictions over who was trying to buy drugs when Liam's daughter was born, and the Christmas morning flashback, which clearly did not happen the way we were shown.
Given the nature of the show and the characters' shady backgrounds, it would hardly be surprisng if some of the back stories were invented- and Charlie would be an ideal candidate. Relatively few flashbacks, only two central themes (music and drugs), and few crossovers with other characters' stories. |

| Why are you even looking into Charlies past? He died didnt he? You should be concetrating on the more alive characters like Desmond and more importantly how Locke died becasue I am so interested in how he did. Also how they get back to the island since it has now been moved. |
