| Remember the whispers in the jungle we often heard during Seasons 1 and 2? Does anybody know the answer to what they are or when we may find out what they are? Or does anybody have any theories on what they are? |

| Mate, it's so obvious if you consider that if we take the area of the island (the dimension is de-compactifying) then the allowed values of the momentum become very closely spaced and begin to form a continuum. These whispers of the dead will show up in the mass spectrum of the uncompactifed world. In particular, a massless state in the higher dimensional theory will show up in the lower dimensional theory as a tower of equally spaced massive states just as we see in the early episodes. |

| Taken from Season 1 - I think the whispers in the jungle are taken from the flash backs from each of the members on the island. You will notice that the whispers and noises made change for each different person. The first whisper that Sawyer hears is the words "It'll come back around" which are the same words spoken by Frank (whom was shot by Sawyer by mistake, thinking that he was shooting Frank Sawyer). The second noises we hear are is the calculator noise that we see in a flashback from Locke's box company - this is repeated continuously throughout the whispers and noise from the black smoke in the jungle. |
