this has me puzzled. what does it refer to, or who for that matter?
one of my beliefs on the matter is 'what lies in the shadow of the statue,' as in the remnants of what part of the statue remains (4 toed foot statue). also, whoever answers this question correctly,could they have all been sent by widmore and are using this riddle as a chance to form themseleves as a group sent by widmore, or possibly a third party interested in the island? |

| in a previous episode bra m the guy that's with ilana tells I think it was miles that they dont work for whidmore. Personally I dont thinkbits ben either, but mb eloise hawking in conjunction with the dhrama initiative |

I think they work for Ben but they don't know it yet.

| I'm wondering if they're remnants (or a revival) of the Dharma Initiative. Supposing that they've slowly been growing in numbers and studying/spying on people such as Widmore and Hawking - and now that they've discovered the location of the Island through them, they've come to reclaim it. |

| i think the shadow is the monster though the question is what lies in (the monster) shadow of the statue which im not sure what to guess though maybe jacob (protected by the smoke though trapped in it aswell ) |

| For a couple of weeks I've thought that 'what lies in the shadow of the statue' must be the bomb, and that Ilina's group is a third one who have somehow found out it exists and are trying to locate it. That's why they're asking people that question - those who know the answer should also be able to tell them (with persuasion) where it can be found. Do others agree? |

| well jacob lies there but that was not the answer to the question(cant remeber but it was latin for protecter or somethin) but i think smokey is the bad dude at the start of the ep, so smokey is jacobs enemy, although the smokey locke saw in season 1 was white or a good smokey, so i think its dark vs light jacob is the good guy smokey is bad and is using lockes body since he returned to the island so locke is dead |
