Can anyone explane the relevence of this book to me? Why was it in the video of the secret clue? everyone reads books! it doesn't mean it was responsible for turing Ben into the minipulative monster he is today...or in 1977...this time thing is really bugging me

| well it is the only way that they can change the past without changing the present, if they kill ben as a child than that completely changes everything and the present for our lost characters would completely change, they would not remember ben they would not have gotten back to the island, and dharma would not have been wiped out. so because things stay as they are and do not reset to whatever they would have been had ben died as a child they must be in a seperate reality/dimension where the ben sayid killed is different to the ben they know. |

| I think the blog on secret clue has a more plausable theory. It's the content of the book not the title. I've given up watching the secret clues, they were informative back in season 3 now their just keeping it up I think. Unless someones speaking anouther language, it's pretty pointless to the ppl who watch it religiously |

| I thought I was the only one disappointed by the "secret clues" this season. In past seasons you really did learn something from the clues but now the videos are just a recap of the questions that are bought up in the episode. |

The reason ben turned so different was because he was shot by sayid after being so nice to him.
Has anyone read this book?
i think "a separate reality" talks about changing the past, there for creating a different reality from how we know it...
And being beet up by his father also added to him being so messed up./ |

This is from Wikipedia regarding the book:
The main focus of the book centered around Don Juans Mateus (self-proclaimed Yaqui Indian Sorcerer) attempts at getting Carlos Casteneda (the writer) to See, a practice best described as, in Castaneda's own words, "perceiving energy directly as it flows through the universe". Castaneda describes the experiences he has with Don Juan while under the influence of the psychotropic plants that Don Juan offered him, peyote (Lophophora williamsii) and a smokable mixture of what Castaneda believed to be, among other plants, dried mushroom of the genus Psilocybe.
A bit bizzare - "under the influence of psychotropic plants" similar to what they did to Sayid to get him to tell the truth..... |
