When the O6 were rescued, how did they explain Jack's obviously recent (still bleeding) appendectemy? Surely they would all have been given thorough medical attention so it couldn't be hidden. And it doesn't exactly fit with their story of being on a (truly)deserted island, then a lifeboat for several days.

They do spend an entire week on Penny's boat. By the time they are 'rescued' I don't think he'd still be bleeding. But then again, I'm no doctor!

Why does everyone think they all would have had a thorough medical examination, is that standard procedure when you have been found following a plane crash? This is their own bodies, Jack is a Doctor, they can just say, please don't examine me I will see my own doctor.
