Now after the finale a lot of talk is about Locke, Jin and Michael not being dead. There is some wiggle room with John, i think he is dead, but once back on the island he will be like Christian Shephard.
People need to stop thinking that if a characters death is not shown on screen, they didnt die. I remember at the end of last season everyone was saying that Charlie didnt die, and he will be back. We went the whole season, and guess what? He is Dead! Oh and Mikhail, he was invincible! we will see him for sure. No he is dead too.
If the deaths of Jin and Michael, and the apparent death of Locke were not true, that would be a big 'screw you' to the fans, If we all watched the frieghter explode and they survived; WHAT WAS THE POINT? Also why would Locke not be dead? we waited all season to find out last years season finale mystery; Who was in the coffin? Well its Locke and he is dead.
Lost is not the sort of show that presents you something your meant to believe (like Locke in the coffin), then take it back. That sort of storyline is left to bad daytime soap operas |

| I agree with you. Lost is different from shows we've seen in the past. Lead characters die on this show and that's it. Sure we all have our favorites but that's the way it goes. Remember,every character on this show is a liar or a criminal or is hiding something, yet we like them,that's what makes Lost unique. So don't expect the typical hollywood ending for this one. |

| Jin is a Minor Major character. He was not eben in the origianl script. He has played his role, and i think he was lucky to last 4 seasons |

Also, remember when Jack found his Dad's coffin in season 2 on the island. Where was the body? Consider Locke's coffin on the island. Also, season 3: what happened to Eko's brother in the plane?" |

| This makes me think there is something about bodies that haven't been buried. I think there is a religious thing about bodies have to be returned to the earth in order to move forward. Since Christian,Yemi,Locke,Clai re have never been buried they can be used by the island or Jacob,but the people who were buried or burned can not. but wait Yemi was burned, so there goes that theory. |

i totally agree with the whole death bit...but...i usually don't question deaths in lost but we must remember that locke is the "new" ben...probebly, now, capable of more then he has revealed. people would now be wanting his blood almost as much as Bens and what can you do when a bunch of mad men want you dead.
also i remember sun talking to witmore...she didn't mention Bens name...Maybe she was talking about Locke...oh wait sorry...benith |

| on lostpedia.com they have a page with all the info about the characters. on it they say that Michael is officially dead, but Jin is 'missing/unknown' - not confirmed to be dead. It also has John Locke as being alive, but if you read the profile it says that in the future he is dead.... |

| and besides, if jin was dead, then why would the show then focus on sun trying to find him again? if he really was gone, it would be more like just shots of her crying/mourning...not attempting to find him again. it would just be a shot of her finally getting to the island to find him wahsed up and dead (not very good storyline).i'm not convinced the island is done with him yet... |

Who said Sun is trying to find him?
Why would they make Yunjin go bat crazy like she did on the helicopter just for Jin to be actually alive somehow, even though he was right underneath the explosion when it went off.
As for the whole Widmore thing, if Locke visited Sun eventually and told her Ben was off the island (like Jack said he told him) then Sun could be working AGAINST Ben, Mr Paik AND Widmore, just choosing to fool Widmore for the time being.
There's loads of possibilities but I never once considered they had anything to do with Jin. |

Ben could have told Sun all about Widmore, and now she is helping Ben to take him down.
But when she said that "they wern't the only ones that left the island", makes me think she knows about Ben and will use this to get info out of Widmore. We know she blames her father for Jin's death, but the other person could be Ben, Jack or Widmore. |

i think i remember that Yemi died in the plane crash that Boone and John found. the plane was sitting on the cliff edge and hadnt been burnt. it was later that i think eko burned the plane as a sort of memorial to his brother. he sets fire to it with his brothers remains still inside. later in another episode he goes back to the burnt out plane to find that yemi's skeleton had been removed. your theory still stands. |

| I'm not saying they died by fire. I'm saying that's how they disposed of the dead bodies in season one. They burned all the dead bodies in the remains of the plane. Eko burned the drug plane with Yemi inside also. Creamation would be the proper term I guess. Some religions believe creamation is a sin because the body must be returned to the earth.I'm thinking Christian and Vincent are dead and Jacob enters their bodies. When he is Vincent he can spy and gather information and when he is Christian he can deliver messages carry out action etc. I know you are saying Vincent isn't dead, but way back in season one someone said there is an episode where you see a small skull in the jungle. Everyone said "Oh it's just one of the boars Locke killed" but I think it was Vincent |

I thought it was so strange that they apparently killed Locke, because he is such a central character. I can understand others being written out - that's the reality with different casting arrangements. People move on to other projects - for a lot of them, Lost was their first real recognition but seven years is a long time to stay with a show shot on location overseas.
It was a bit sad to lose Jin, but there wasn't a lot of character development ahead for the character, because he doesn't speak English and you can't have a mainstream show with heaps of subtitles. Having said that, the actors did pretty well in dealing with this.
Maybe now Aaron is destined to 'lead' the island - after all, in the Old Testament, Aaron's family was the foundation of the twelve tribes of Israel. Maybe Claire doesn't want this and that's why she warned Kate not to take him back to the island. (Is the name Jeremy from Jeremiah, the 'broken-hearted' prophet of the Old Testament?)
This is not a conventional series. It breaks a lot of rules. We are so used to shows which are predictable and have five minute plots, people's attention spans are really short! But the show really is getting into sci-fi/thriller stuff now. You see threads going in one direction, then all of a sudden they're abruptly ended. There are flash backs and flash forwards which are pretty disjointed. But at least it's something different to all the medical soap operas and silly cop shows. |

There is a problem with this theory.... Libby. She and Ana Lucia were buried after Micheal killed them.
However, adding to the theory is Charile - when Hurley has been talking to Charile we have seen him on screen. However, in the final Hurley was thinking he was talking to Eko but we didn't see him and he has been buried. |

Regarding the ...Is Jin dead or not
Remember in an earlier episode of Lost S4 it shows Sun giving birth and calling out for Jin. Then there are shots of Jin desperatley searching for a black and white panda for a "baby" we guessed it was Sun but at the end of the episode we see it is for a powerful business mans daughter, almost like he was living in the present but a different dimension.
Sun maybe angry at Jack for not stopping for Jin on the boat but I think her real anger is at her father hence her taking over 45% of his company. When she spoke to Wigmore in London he knew her father ... does he have connections and money which she could use to her advantage to find the island. |

| But in that episode, Jin's were flashbacks and Sun's were flashforwards. So for Jin, it was before the plane crash when they're lives were normal, although their marriage wasn't working. And for Sun, it was after her husband was dead and she was so distraught that she wanted Jin there even though she knew he wouldn't be. |

My brother thinks that Michael may not be dead- after all, Jack's dad, Christian, was there with Michael in the last moment we saw Michael this season. This- I think- hints that Michael could still be alive.
I am sure we will find out sooner or later if they truly are dead or not. That's the mystery of the show- that they can hide stuff like this from us for long periods of time, & only give us small moments of answers in the mean time. |
