OK, might be totally off the wall here, but, Ben and Locke both have mothers called Emily. Just wondering if it could be the same Emily??
How much older than Ben is Locke?? Lockes Emily was only 15 when she had him, and Bens mother died in childbith with him. Lockes mum gave him up for adoption, and we see Locke in a foster home when he is about 6 or so.
She was married, so could have moved on and got married 5 or so years later, becoming then pregnant with Ben.
Ben looks younger than locke, so this could fit.
As i said, could be totally wrong, but does any one else think this theory could be true?? |

| yeah i thought there were related when i heard both there mothers names were Emily plus both of them want to save the island and both lost the ability to walk not a reason for them to be brothers but a reason for them to have some connection and ben and lockes emily said there name before death/child taken from room |

But Locke's mum is still alive....so they couldn't be related. Because in "Lockdown", Locke mum is alive and stalking him. Yeah, but Locke and Ben have a lot in common though.
-Their mums are both named Emily
-Both were born 3months premature
-Both were confronted by Richard when young
-Lost the ability to walk
Maybe the writers intended them to be really alike
also are leaders of the island! |

| i guess we will find out in the final!!! its a good theory but i would be a bit disappointed if it happened. Ben would lose his mysterious side a bit i think. |

I think that the woman who introdused herself as Locke's mother was really her. Cooper knew he had a son but never cared. When he found out he needed a doner he traced him and paid Emily to go see him so Locke wouldn't understand the plan.
And Ben never lost his ability to walk.He was just recovering from the surgery |

| My theory is that the Others have a prophesy (or something like that) that a man born in difficult sircuimstances, not raised by his mother, with a father who doesn't care will save the island. Maybe he is supposed to kill his father (and that's why Ben told Locke to do it) and also is someone protected and healed from the island. Ben and Locke had a few in common, maybe Aaron needs to kill his daddy before he returns. |

even though Aaron is an ugly sort of baby (sorry, he just has a weird head), i don't think he should become a murderer :P |

| So I was watching (again) "Cabin Fever" and here what I thought now: what if Mr Richard spoke to Emily and convinced her that it was best to give little John away. He was there to make sure that he wasn't raised by his mother. She seemed to care very much about him but something made her change her mind. Could this be the reason she went crazy later on? Guilt or something deeper connected with the island? My friend mistakendragon of course I don't expect that they will make Aaron a murderer... |

hmmmm....yeah, good point g kot, also, i'm glad you don't want Aaron to become a murderer :P
i also remembered something from another ep (i can't remember which one) when Locke first meets his mum. he had a dna test to see if she was his mum, which she was, so Ben can't be related to him. ah well, they'd be cool half brothers, though |

| And remember the ep when Ben was born: his mother was dying and Roger called her name in agony -Emily-. At that moment Olivia turned and looked at Horace, as if her name was significant. Of course they were Dharma and not Hostiles but they seemed to know the "prophecy". Hey maybe Charlotte is their daughter. Oh my God, so many theories... |

| Thank you mistakendragon for the DNA info. I remembered something about a test but as I was discussing it with someone a few weeks ago, he insisted that they didn't take any test. And I started to believe that I had imagined it |

| we never learned who Annie's parents were. I saw an interview with Libby and she made a mistake calling her character in Lost "Annie". You can't imagine how many people said that it had a meaning... Ok so now Libby is Annie. Is there any woman character in Lost which isn't yet thought to be Annie? |

hmmm...well i once thought that she was Horace's daughter "Annie Goodspeed" but i don't think so.
I was also thinking Charolette but she's british, annoying and was shot by Ben. Also, Ben knew about her background so that theory's down the drain.
Anyway, i think this subject is about Ben and Locke, ah well :P |
