| Locke was never meant to open the Swan hatch.Walt told him not to open it.Also, when Locke had his dream about the Beechcraft,he said this would lead them to opening the hatch,but it never did.It was actually Rousseau who led him to the Black Rock to retrieve the dynamite to blow it open.Going back to the dream,the Beech craft did lead Locke to opening the hatch,but he opened the wrong one.He was meant to open the Pearl hatch and he would have realized the Swan hatch was a joke.He could have saved himself a lot of pain and heartache.In his flashback(the episode where he had the dream),he was conned by his father.This told us that the hatch was going to con him as well,he just couldnt see it.Then he realized it was a joke,he was conned and lost his faith. |
