Obviously there would be more than 1 person looking for her.

| Yeah, very good point. Sawyer actually pointed that out in Season One (Born to Run?). It definitely gives more weight to the theory that the island exists in some altered reality. |

I answered this for myself last night, Seeing as Kate would be know as one of the Oceanic Six and has her Celebrity and whatever, i think the judge would have seen crashing on an island and Surviving for so long, and if they know about the rest of what they've been through he would have considered it punishment enough. Thats just one Theory.
Also since she has her Celebrity and got all that Gold Pass and i would guess money from Oceanic she could afford a good Lawyer... |
