| oh jeff, listen to the people in the show... that's what it SAYS but not what it MEANS. there's another possible translation, which is more accurate to what the tattoo lady meant to mark him with. |

I'm not sure when people are asking if Jacks Tatts are real do you guys mean on Matthew Fox or are the meanings real??
If you take a look in ep 9 when Jack and Achara are kissing before he get's 'marked' you can see what appears to me makeup covering something on his left shoulder, presumably the Tatts. It could have been a ploy by the producers or simply a gaff, but you can clearly see two seperate colours on his left shoulder and arm.

Ok, I have a distinct memory from when the first show started, when ppl first started looking at everything for a possible clue. A lot of people were concentrating on Jack's tattoo, trying to decipher some meaning from it.
I can remember a reading a statement from the producers that the tattoos r real on Matthew Fox and that they dont have any impact on any part of the show. That was way back in season 1.
Perhaps they have managed to find a way to bring them in. Maybe they just wanted to address the tattoo because a lot of people still had questions regarding it.
But 1 thing I noticed that doesnt seem to have come up, when jack was beaten up on the beach, u saw his tatoo and all he had were the characters. No 5, no sun, just the characters so obviously he added the other stuff later on. Maybe that will come up in a future episode too. |

I Noticed that jacks Tatt looked more prominent than they had done in previous eppisodes!
Somthing i find really interesting is:

I Know this theroy has been slammed but it could mean ...

The real tattoos on Matthew Fox's arm do not say "he walks among us but he is not one of us", they say something related to a poem written by the former leader of the Communist Revolution in China - I forget his name, Mao something.
This serves as proof that the tattoos DO mean something within the show, because they obviously made up that line for the purposes of last nights ep. |

exactly. the real meaning of the tattoos is completely different from the one presented on the show. the tattoos tell an eagle gaining freedom by flying up high and fast in the big sky. you can take my words because i speak chinese as the first language.
why abc would make up a false meaning? i dont really have a clue. for sure it was hilarious by watching them talking seriously about this on the show. |

Exactly, jedd_hardy is the only person here that actually watched that episode of lost, you *** s of course his tattoo's are not real, he does have some real ones but not the chinese ones that say "He walks among us but is not one of us".
