| Lost has been my favourite show since the day it started. I was 14 years old and it introduced me to a whole new part of myself that I didnt know existed. My life was totally emerced in Lost...I was a sad kid, and it was a great escape....I may have grown up and Lost may have 'lost' that bit of sparkle that initially held my attention but in time it has become my most endeering heartache.Hence I have an extreme loyalty to it still. So what I would like to know is if I am alone here? Do people truely care and emerce themselves in this show anymore? Or have people honestly stopped watching enough to justify an 11pm time slot. I notice less outrage this time around unlike the jump to 10:30. Just wondering? |

| I think 7 LOST a lot of viewers to downloading because it was so far behind America then LOST more viewers when they started airing it at 10.30 so I think the reason not too many people are complaining now is because the majority of LOST fans no longer care when 7 airs it as they are 2 episodes ahead anyway. |

I agree a lot with what klj441 said about people turning to online downloads, but I think Lost has continuously lost more and more viewers over time; The vast majority of them being casual viewers who see the increasingly mind-boggling twists as ludicrous, then there are the perhaps one-time fans of the show who grew impatient with getting answers.
I remember even only last year, coming to this site immediately after Channel 7 had aired the show and there would be at least a dozen new posts pop up. Now this board is just about a ghost town!
There have been certain episodes where I wonder if even a faithful fan such as myself is getting a bit bored of where the show may be going, but every time I have felt that, following episodes often tend to strengthen my loyalty to the show as strong as ever. |

| ^ Of course, turns out I wasn't taking episode discussion threads into consideration. Ep. 10's thread is bustling strong as ever! |

cryssi_r4eva, I am in exactly the same boat. In fact, what you said is pretty much a mirror image of what I had.
When season 2 was airing here in Australia, I had just moved here, to Perth. I didn't have anything, no friends, I pretty much didn't have a life. The only happiness I found was at 8:30 on a thursday night. My life revolved around it. I used to come to these message boards not only to talk about Lost, but because the people here actually wanted to talk to me.
Well three years later, like you said, I've grown up. I'm studying at uni, I have the best friends ever, I wake up every morning a happy man. And similarly, I'm just not as emersed in the show as I used to be. My life no longer revolves around Lost, it's more like a little bonus on the side.
But I will never forget the tough days, and Lost played a major part in getting me through each week. I reckon Lost probably changed my life. So to answer your question, no, I'm not as 'lost' in the show as I used to be, but I definitely still care about the show, it still means the world to me, and I will always put 1 hour aside each week to watch the show, to the very end. |

You are feeling it already, but in a few years time, you will remember those LOST days with a bittersweet ache in your heart.
Welcome to adulthood. |

Don't worry, cryssi. There's still an incredibly vast fan base out there who absolutely adore the show, I'm still a proud fan myself.
I'll recommend you joining this forum, though beware of spoilers if you're not caught up to the USA (episode 13 just aired there today) :
http://forum.spoilertv.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=1
It's a wonderful forum with lots of friendly, dedicated fans to talk to :)
It's only on at such a late time here because 7 doesn't want to support it any more. In the USA it's still very much supported by its host channel (ABC), the media and the fans alike. |

figured i might aswell join the party!
hey my names jesse and yes, im a lost-a-holic.. i only ever missed one episode due to technical difficulties and trust me, that person payed for it..
i know support for this show is low, theres only a few now that still watch the show that i know of, compared to when it began and everyone watched it! i see it as an intelligence thing.. people want to be spoonfed answers, there life is for thinking, tv is for escape!
im 19.. love john butler, and was mates with outrajess, she still on here?
this show is my life.. and i am a john butler forum heavy goer, weve over the many years made some noise and got stuff happening.. i think this board could do so to.. we just need to show support.. ive visted these boards for years and always read up on them, i was signed up but lost my account and never got around to signing up again.. it pains me that lost is being threatened, i think more people should watch it but circumstancially its difficult.. |

| Well i thought i'd join the party! I'm 16 and lost started when i was about 11 or 12, my sister watched it and so did I but i never really took a interest in it i guess it was because i didn't understand it cause i was young! But when it was season 2 and i started high school i understood it better i've loved it and been hooked since and it just gets better every year and it really is a great escape from reality and makes things better its good to hear that other people feel the same way! I hate it that channel 7 puts it on so late i'm up to date with the american episodes but still watch it on channel 7 to help the ratings but when there changing the time slot to 11 i don't think i'll be watching 7 anymore its just too late! |

Well I am glad that there is others out there in the same frustration boat as I am, still loving Lost with die hard loyalty, not simply because it is a show we all enjoy but because it is or once was an escape.
I got a great opportunity a month or so back when JJ Abrams was out here to promote 'Star Trek' to write him a letter that was personally handed to him by a friend of mine. Who knows if he ever read it but I let him know of this one Aussie fan's die hard fandom and requested he speak to channel 7 about promoting Lost a little better. Perhaps a better time slot may be in order by the last season. If not we can all just hold out hope that they wont take it away from us before the end of its time.
I know its lame but I feel a certain comradery to each person who finds something more, personally, in a simple tv show. I am glad that there is still people out there I have my own "Lost Connection" with.
Have a good one Fellow Losties |

| Yes indeed. I'll be counting the days for the return of LOST in 2010. I expect that LOST is still fairly popular even at the later time slot coz of the number of adds played. It is my all time favourite show and please Channel 7, dont assume that the fans are LOST. |

Lost (final): viewers = 251,000
sorry, but i think it's safe for 7 to assume that all viewers are 'lost'.
shows that australians do not support on TV just have to be put on late at night. it's a fact of life. if a show is viewed by a lot of people at night like scrubs, boston legal, and family guy it will be trialled in primetime. if no one watched it, it gets later and later. like lost, prisonbreak, heroes and 24.
with the numbers lost has been getting i'm surprised it is still on air. |

I think channel 7 can gain a lot more viewership for Lost, especially since it's into it's final season. People are going to want to find out what happens.
I think it would do 7 good to give Lost at least the 9:30 timeslot for season 6, especially considering the stuff they had on Wednesday nights this year.
Ok, fair enough, Criminal Minds probably deserves the 8:30 slot, but seriously... Family Guy isn't funny anymore, and that Ponderland show was just rubbish. No wonder it got axed.
Lost, in my opinion, is a far better show than the other shows given the 9:30 slot, which are: Brothers and Sisters, Greys Anatomy, My Name is Earl, and 10 Years Younger in 10 Days, and it deserves far more respect from 7. |

i highly doubt lost will be sucessful ever again. 10 years, ponderland, earl, family guy, brothers&sisters ect. all rate quite well nowhere near the figues Lost would ever see. and as soon as people have left a highly serial drama - they're gone. and it's the final season, 7 has no reason to try with it. there are so many new US shows coming next year, they will get priority.
@flashes_before_your_eyes , ponderland wasn't axed, the season finished. |

Man, I havent watched on the Telly for ages.
I care, but not for me. I want you other guys to experience Lost on the telly. But I gave in to watching online so long ago. And I know that America wont cancel Lost, the ratings over their are much higher than here.
So, I half care. Kinda. XD |

Oh for crying out loud, if you don't like LOST then piss off and complain about something else in your life. I'm sick of all these "ratings show this, ratings show that".
They are no-where near accurate and don't even represent 50% of the country!
Have your personal opinion and stick with it. Don't use inaccurate technology to express your thoughts and decisions for a TV network. lame.
Oh and I agree with you Chris, Channel 7 can really bring in some old viewers with heavy advertising of "LOST, the final season .... see how it ends". In a suitable 9:30pm timeslot. |
