well last night lost received a mere 336,000 viewers. shows that have scored much more than that have been axed/bumped before. there is a good chance that Lost does not have a future in a prime 10:30 position on 7. the problem is not the lead-in or awareness because gangs of oz and beyond the darklands have both been rating well and lost has dropped significantly since earlier in the season (it was actually doing ok and up on last year). i think fans just do not like this season it happening all over the world. some countries have given up on it altogether.
in 7's defense all us media commentators predicted that lost was going strait to 11:30 this year after last years ratings. and then thought ep1 was a one-off promotional episode at 10:30, no one thought it would last this long at 10:30. it just comes down to how much profit 7 are willing to lose for the fans sake. |

| also interesting to note that sci-fi's, action's and serials are not on our screens anymore. they have all been canned/on at midnight/HD only it really is amazing that lost has lasted this long. |

Oh my god, why is there ALWAYS someone inspecting the viewers and trying to predict whether LOST will survive or not. It only has ONE season to go after this, why axe it now?
Anyway, the "viewing ratings" are useless counters. They rely on the TVs that have the black boxes in them to measure what people watch. If you don't have a black box, you don't count. LOST could have WAY more viewers than that but we'd never know if they don't have the box.
Just stop doubting the show already, 7 clearly doesn't want much to do with it any more and is only screening it for US. |

| look, Jerome, is not that people don't like it. its that hardcores don't want to wait til 10:30 to watch lost, when in the US, they are 4 episodes ahead. it would get good ratings at 8:30 or 9:30. and perhaps if it were a little more fast tracked from US, like series 3 or 4 was. |

ok. well i dindn't want to concentrate on why it is failing just saying that it hit an all time low yesterday and will likely be bumped to 11:30 soon.
and "viewer ratings" inaccurate as they may be it is how advertising money is measured and hence the timeslot it gets.
and the fact that there is only one season to go is even more of a reason to cut it because there is no chance of them getting any long term viewers. they may aswell use the slot to secure viewers for the long term. |

lol well it actually airs at 11PM not 10:30
and those numbers could be WAY lower than the amount that do watch it, like it was said about the black box in ya TV
tonight i think coz of the football lost will be on even later, but not sure yet coz site still says 11
after 5 seasons of lost, Seven are not going to axe the show, imagine the up-roar it would cause to air a show for over 3 years, and 5 season then axe the last season?!?!?! to Seven the drama of that would be too much so they will probably just leave it as a late show. |

| Ratings will be low due to people down loading episodes after being treated poorly by 7. I recorded the final episode on the Austar Mystar function and allowed for 5 minutes prior to start time and I still missed the start. Channel 7 treat their viewers poorly. I dont watch anything else on their channel and wont be until LOST returns next year. |
