| You see Desmond did not have the ability to see the future while sailing off the island. It was only till after the the exploding of the hatch that he was giving the so-called gift. I for one was starting to question his ability. Either that or he really disliked Eko. KNOW WHAT I MEAN? |

here are my thoughts -
des has always been able to see the future like in the last ep of S2 when he left military jail the guard asked him why he didnt read hisbook and des said hed read it when he was bout to fie then guard say good i dea if oyu no when ya gonna die.
so des has forseen when his death will occur so hes going to no when to read his book.
also in the hatch the was a mural on one of teh walls with random pctures but now its making sence they are visoins des has had and hes paineted em up and now there starting to happen. for instance yemis in the mural as well as many other thingds. |

At the end of season 2, Desmond turned the key in the hatch, but before he did it, he went over to the ladder to get into the hatch and turned on a floodlight, Just like when Locke was leaning over the hatch and a light came up in his face, that was the same light.
there is proof that Desmond is re-living events that have happend in the past. |
