This might seem like a strange theme, but there are heaps of connections regarding shoes in Lost. You might not realise it, because its something that you wouldn't normally look out for, but there are heaps! Shoes might have a metaphorical meaning like 'walking a path'.
Here's is my list so far:
- Season 1 Episode 1: as Jack runs towards beach, he sees a shoe hanging from the tree
- Season 1 Episode 1: when Kate tells Jack that she's going with him to get to the c ockpit, Jack tells her that she's going to need to get some new shoes
- Season 1 Episode 4: the shoe theme continues with Locke putting his shoe on after the crash and lying on the beach
- Season 1 Episode 4: Jack begins seeing his father, who seems to be wearing white sneakers
- Season 1 Episode 16: Sawyer's flashback as a child and his view from under the bed which is of his father's shoes
- Season 1 Episode 18: Hurley had a sneaker factory in Canada
- Season 2 Episode 1: Jack sees Locke's shoes before running into Desmond in the Hatch
- Season 2 Episode 5: Sun's mother is very particular about the shoes she is wearing to her date
- Season 2 Episode 5: "They don't leave tracks" says Mr Eko to Jin about the Others who DON'T wear shoes
- Season 2 Episode 9: Kate takes off Wayne's shoes when she puts him into bed but then blows up the house, what's the point of that if she's gonna kill him anyway?
- Season 2 Episode 12: the first view of this episode is Charlie's flashback to when he was a child, and the view of his feet, wearing rabbit slippers, coming down the stairs
- Season 2 Episode 12: Libby remembers Hurley stepping on her foot (assuming she was wearing a shoe at the time)
- Season 2 Episode 18: Hurley finds Dave's shoe
- Season 2 Episode 22: "I didn't hear you come in man" Michael to Eko. "I left my shoes outside, they were muddy" Eko to Michael
- Season 3 Episode 14: Nikki takes off Paulo's shoe and throws it into the tree |

- Season 3 Episode 19: Locke leads Sawyer to the Black Rock but Sawyer doesn't have any shoes on
- Season 3 Episode 20: Ben begins to take off his fathers shoes when he's lying on the couch asleep
- Season 3 Episode 21: As Charlie swims down to the Looking Glass station, he loses his left shoe in the water
- Season 3 Episode 22: Kate stops on the way to the radio tower to get a stone out of her shoe
I haven't gone through Season 4 yet, but I'm sure there will be a few more. If anyone has any more to add, feel free. |

| Haha, yeah that's what I was getting at! The writers and actors are always describing the Island as its own character, perhaps it likes long walks on the beach and sunsets and when it comes to stuff in the bedroom, it be a bit kinky...maybe that's why the Island brought down Oceanic815, more feet to play with! |

| Im sorry to say, but i dont think this is that important. Some of those things are meaningless. Like I could go and list everytime mention was made to a shirt... michael seen sun without a shirt on, jin tells sun to button her shirt up, sawyer takes kates shirt off to have sex, jack takes his shirt off to get an apendectomy, etc. |

| That's ok. We're all here to post our opinions! No harm done. And I would love to hear the Chuck Norris theory...very interesting...And you know that now I'm going to have to go a rewatch every episode (what a shame) and find a whole bunch of quotes to do with shirts! |
