I was just looking back over an episode from season 2, in which we find out about how desmond first arrived at the hatch. Given what happened in ben's flashback many things now actually look even more confusing. Such as:
- why is the other guy (bearded guy who desmond shares the hatch with) still wearing a dharma suit when we know now the others did out with the dharma stuff a long while back?
- how did that guy end up in the hatch alone? given what we know from sayid's gulf war flashback, the guy was a cia 'spook', so why on earth did he agree to sit alone in the hatch for years in dharma clothes? plus how did he end up on the island in the first place?!
- assuming he's connected with the others, why was he trying to steal desmond's boat? wouldn't ben already have ordered someone to take it before?we know that the others could track movement in the water around the islands so they surely would have found it ages ago...
- is there any chance that he and Mikhail are somehow connected? (they're the only others who wear dharma boiler suits and they both live away from the others camps)
well anyway, given what we know now about the others this stuff has been REALLY bugging me!!! Does anyone have any ideas???!!!For sure it's something that's going to be adressed in the next season... |

the man you speak of l.a.w, is Kelvin Joe Inman. I think you're right, it is very possible that Kelvin and Mikhail are linked and were possibly sent to the island together.
Before coming to the island, Kelvin was involved with the U.S military during the Gulf War
Mikhail responded to an ad while stationed at a military listening post in the pacific.
The man who was in the hatch before Kelvin was a man by the name of Radzinky (sounds like a russian name to me...)
now we know that Radzinkys body was found in a cave by Locke when he was rescuing Eko. According to Kelvin, Radzinky committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.
Now i don't have much to go on here, but i think Mikhail might have had something to do with Radzinkys death, and i think we will find out in season 4. |

Probably completely wrong, but...
Kelvin was in Iraq during the Gulf War, so presumably Dharma was dead by the time he came to the island. He was therefore recruited by the Others (just like Juliet) and abandoned in the Swan with the knowledge that he would die if he ever stopped pushing the button. Radzynski had been captured, interrogated and executed by the Others prior to Kelvin's arrival and much of his knowledge had been passed on (by the Others) to Kelvin. Kelvin found himself a stooge (Desmond) with a boat and planned to take advantage of him to escape- and we already know the rest.
Makes sense? |

umm...this never happened....I think somebody may have theorized this....but there's been no proof to back it up.... |
