I don't want to know the connection that the survivors have with each other. I'd rather know the connection of the peculiar events on the island:
1. Why the island can't be found?
2. Why flying machines, and boats crash on the island?
3. Who the others really are?
4. What is Smokey?
5. Dharma/Hanso?
6. The visions
7. What they do with the captives?
There has to be some connection between these things. Your thoughts? |

1. well we know the island can't be found due to the magnetic shiled or whatever
2. everything crashes on the island due to the shield aswell
3. the others i have no idea but they cod be working with hanso and dharma

You've pretty much answered the why, but how are these things connected? Which is REAL question.
Not to mention the numbers thing. What I've gained from these numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42. 42 is the number of survivors of the fuselage after the death of Shannon and Boone and disappearance of Walt, 23 are the number of survivors of the tail sections. And it kinda got reduced to 16 then 15 then 8 and then 4 when they united with the fuselage survivors. Eventually the combine number of survivors will become 42 again, no more no less. |

Yeah. I agree. To be honest I don't care about the human connections either, and there are too many crossovers between them in the past, it's a joke. To answer your question, I can't understand how the island has never been discovered. as Michael said in Exodus:Part 2 (Season 1)"How does a place this big never get discovered...?" I think that the reason flying machines and boats crash on the island is because they are attracted by the electromagnetic anomoly generated from the island. I also think that if the survivors are to let go of that thing that is holding them back in life. Then they die or go back to normal life (we don't find out until after the show ends). Boone died because he was ready to let Shannon out of his life. Shannon died because she was ready to trust someone in love, and not sue them. Mr Eko died cos he was ready to confess his sins. Libby dies cos she's not crazy. Ana-Lucia is ready to give into taking orders.
And maybe from the episode Hurley had with Dave was right. That when you are ready to free yourself, you will wake up in the real world. |

Do you remember when Ben told Jack that he has been on the island all his life? And when they proved to him that they have contact with the outside world (the recording of the baseball game and the file on Jack's life)?
From what i can gather, Widmore financed Dharma and the 'experiments' (in season 1 you saw a clip of the pople who founded Dharma - they did not look as tho they could afford all the equipment, supplies(all widmore products if you hadn't noticed), staff wages, let alone the island!).
Then there was the 'incident' which meant that the experiments had to be abandoned which is why all the other hatches were empty except for Desmond's which was the only one which was needed to avoid another 'incident'.
The 'others' are those who decided to stay on at the island after it was all abandoned, to try and create a 'eutopia' of sorts (why they only kidnapped the 'good people' - the children etc).
In return for being allowed to stay on the island, the others are protecting it or something on it for Widmore.
The magnetic field is part of the defences for the island to remain unfound and is the cause for all the crashes and failed atempts to escape (when Michael and Walt we set free, Ben gave them specific coordinates to follow). At the end of season 2, after the hatch imploded when Desmond turning the key, The two men working for Penny (Desmond's love and Widmore's daughter) were looking for a magnetic anomoly and called her as soon as they found it.
She knew what to look for because the others were able to keep an eye on the hatch and have contact with the outside world. This would have to be directly with Widmore so as to keep it all secret. Therefore, when notifying Widmore when Desmond arrived on the island, Penny found out and began her search. |

| Now this is freaky. It's about the numbers. In an episode of series 2. When Michael got reunited with the survivors, he said that there's 22 of the other. Reason for that is because Ben was being held hostage. So the total count of the Others is 23. 23 was the number of tail end survivors, until some of them got abducted. The total count of survivors became 4 when they got united with the Fuselage survivors, making it 19 of the tailies that got abducted. So therefore if they abducted 19 and had 23 others, making their population 42. As I am aware, the population of Survivors are 42 also. The 19 abductees would be subject to brainwashing and tests to become part of the OTHERS. |

| Yeah I've heard it's part of the Valenzetti Equation and that is supposed to predict the end of the world, but how? Add all the numbers to get 108, does this mean we have 108 years to live, or will end in the year 2108. Does anyone know how the Valenzetti equation works? Usually an equation have functions and unknown symbols. I just see numbers. |

Well i've done a little research on this valenzetti equasion and it seems the exact combination of the numbers
and how to read them has been jumbled for what purpose (i dont know?) but i can tell you the others are there to figure out how to change their effect!....SOMEHOW?
P.S from what i've gathered there may possily be 4th series. |

7. What they do with the captives.
After episode 7 im sure they kidnap children for the purpose of conditioning them with the dharma ideals. Children would be easily able to be conditioned because they havent got a complicated past. They kidnap only those who have had a 'good' clear past. Our main survivors have had shadey and complicated pasts and therefore are considered bad for dharma conditioning purposes, although the island seems to be trying to make our survivors clear their pasts through revisiting it and learning. Ekho died because he did not regret his past, therefore was never going to change his ways and is capable of being an instrument of dharma |

Peeps, u probably already know, but the numbers (4 8 15 16 23 42) are, when multiplied together, the number that appeared on the plane that was looking for desmond. (the number is 7418880). So that number must mean that the people on the plane hav found the losties and desmond, of course. The number also must mean that a radioactive elecrtical seal is broken so you will be able to find th island. All the losties hav to do is wait...
( ps by th way, ther are 5 seasons altogther, not 4)
(pps i bet Micheal and Walt and Vincent are gonna come and save th only surviving survivors at th end..) |

| About the whole how cum no 1 can find de island thingo, its all about the magnetic shield. It doesnt make it invisible, it just draws anything that goes near it. This means that if eva a rescue search plane or boat or wateva goes lookin 4 it, they just crash on it and are stranded of killed. So any1 could easily find it if it wasnt 4 the sheild. Also, ud probBLY think yer but how cum they cant just leave? Same story 4 example wen they made da raft (Season 1) on there waii 2 freedom they were blown up by the others. Micheal & Sawyer get on a floatin peice of wood, and, eventually, end up bak at the island. This is bcoz the magnetic fiend draws them bak. So the island isnt invisible, its just unreachable or if u prefer - unescapable. That is, until, desmond broke the sheild. |
