| claire's mother tells jack that his sister was on the plane. iloved how he reacted but what i found very distracting was the accent of the woman playing claire's mum, if she is australian then i'll walk to burke ! she sounded very kiwi to me. |

mykl, are you referring to a broncos poster in her room as in Claire's room? Because that means nothing with reference to where Emilie is from - it's an American show and they very often just decide well an Aussie is an Aussie (even if they are actually a New Zealander...)
Honestly, I have never noticed a difference between Brisbane and Sydney accents and I know a few people from Melbourne who speak just like me (from Brisbane). The major difference you find in Australian accents is less from city to city and more from city areas to country areas. Country people are the ones who tend to speak with broader accents. |

Captain Gault is played by a kiwi - Grant Bowler is born & raised in NZ :P so, yeah - they have pommy/aussie accent (they speak the queen's english :P)
Emilie was born on The Mornington Peninsular (Mt Eliza) way way south-south/east of Melbourne and having spent most of my life (25+ yrs) in the south east of Melbourne she sounds fine to me :) |
