I would go to your GP about that, Because you might be having a reaction to it. Or something else. Go and see your doctor.

I had my implanon insterted about a month after my son was born back in Janurary. About 6 months ago I noticed i was having major hair loss, anxiety, acne and mood swings. I didn't think too much about it because everyone kept telling me that my body was doing all these weird things because i just had a baby. well, my son is almost nine months now and my hair just keep falling out in clumps, my face looks awfully pocked for a 22 year old and i cant stop feeling like i cant breath sometimes. Has anyone had the implanon removed and had a cease fire of their side effects? Most importantly, will my hair grow back??

thanks :) I'm going to try asking them for that and hope that it comes out in the end!

annoyingly I have to wait for another 2 weeks to go the next appointment, my gp is so big on me not taking it out she keeps nagging about it :S I dont think they should be allowed to put pressure.

Hey (crzy_heartless) i had my implant removed yesterday because i got really bad mood swings. The exact same thing happened. The nurse had put it in to deep. i had 2 incisions and felt every bit especially when they clamped down when they finally got hold of it. Its awful but if you want it taken out there are special clinics that will put you to sleep to find it which is what i was offered yesterday. Ask your GP that messed up. Hope you get sorted :)

Dont panick!!!
My periods completley stopped around 2 weeks after it was inserted and apart from the odd spotting I havent had a period for 3 years! Mine is now due to come out.
You must take a pregnancy test to see if you are pregnant though. The implanon should not effect the result but just to make sure I would do 2 tests. They recomend that anyway.
If you are pregnant then it would be a good idea to get the implant out of your body asap so the hormones do not effect or interfear with the babies growth.
I hope this is helpful.x

That sounds awful (crzy_heartless) I heard that can happen where it is implanted too deeply. Mine is still visible from the surface and if I press one end the other end is visible as a bump on the skin, I am hoping this means mine isn't implanted too deep. I have got an appointment on Thursday and plan to tell the nurse that I want to have it removed as I am fed up with the bleeding and would really like to try for another baby... Really worried though, was so bruised when she put it in a year ago, god knows what I'll look like when she tries to yank it out!

I dont know maybe I'm a minority, I went to have mine removed today and the gp had put it in too deep so they couldnt find it, they ended up making the incision wider and half way through it all the anaesthic wore off and I was in alot of pain and they still didn't manage to get it out in the end, now Im feeling to chicken to try again :(

Re:Implanon - conceiving after it? Reply to this message
Hi, I have been on Implanon for a year and everything has been fine with this form of contraception up until the last 3 months. I have recently changed my diet to one where I eat very small amounts of carbohydrate, since I have changed my diet I have been advised to take vitamin tablets. Ever since the change in my diet and me starting taking vitamin pills I have been having a period every month and these are really heavy. I don't know what to do as I want to keep my diet going (as I have put on weight since being on Implanon) but don't want to think that this change is affecting my contraception. Does anyone have any advice?

Uh.. I'm a little freaked out guys. I haven't had a period since the 10th of July... I am NOT preg, unless women can spontaneously get preg without having sex. I had a day of barely there spotting, but since, nothing. The whole time I was on implanon, I bled constantly.. Whats going on? I'm really scared.

Re:Implanon - conceiving after it? Reply to this message
Hi, i just got the Implanon 3 weeks ago and so far its been pretty good... no bleeding at all! =] slight headaches, really weird though that i seem to be feeling pregnant, seems as if i have syptoms of early pregnancy (cramps, sickness morning & night, totaslly asnxious and a really wet mouth) i'm very worried about puttin of weight though, ive been 54 kgs before and after having 3 children so i hope this will stay the same. Is there a waiting period for these side effects to go away?
