Hi ip4lat,
To me you don't sound like you have much of a problem... your body has returned to a cycle, just because its not straight onto a 'normal' 28day cycle is not a major dilema, you just need to monitor youir body for signs of ovulation so you know when to try. You are very lucky that your period returned so quickly after removal, shows that you have ovulated, it just wasn't when you thought. And don't forget it far from a sur thing to conceive just because you have sex at the right time.
Good luck |

Hi ashleigh.philbrick,
Whoever the doctor was that told you that you should be pregnant in 72 hours should have his/her license revoked. No-one in any situation should be told this, contraception or not, because theres so many factors that need to be right to conceive. It has only been 3 months since you had it removed, your body needs to get back into a regular cycle, the same as with ANY hormone contraception. The average time for anyone to conceive is 6-12months, regardless of what contraception has been used. The best thing for you to do is try to relax a bit to allow your body to be level, and monitor signs for ovulation, use ovulation tests etc. Everyones body is different.
Good luck. |

| I had the implanon inserted after my 1st child in Oct 07. I had it removed July 08 because my husband and I are wanting to have another baby. The doctor told me that I should be pregnant within 72 hours and I am not pregnant yet. Here is is Oct 08 and no baby. My periods are still not regular and I am so scared that I am not going to be able to get pregnant again. I am 23 and my daughter just turned 2. Please let me know if anyone has said that the Implanon prevents pregnancy after removal. Thanks |

| I think her best bet would be to have the implanon removed. I was also aggressive when I was on implanon, but since I have had it removed I no longer feel that rage. |

| I have had Implanon for the past 5.5 years and have not had a single side effect other than the agression. I am fine 99% of the time, but it just takes that one little thing to tip me over the edge and although I know what I am doing and know it is wrong, there is no control over it. BTW i have never had any issues with agression before. The most important thing is to recognise it and try to control the out bursts as much as possible. I only have one about once every 6 - 9 months now. |

| My first Implanon was inserted in Feb 2003, replaced in Feb 2006 and again in June 2008. The first one didn't cause too many side effects & periods virtually stopped - GREAT!!! Second insertion slowly started to cause problems, periods started again with avengence lasting longer and longer - upto 6 weeks. Many other of the "common" side effects also started. My GP then suggested that it was "running out" & my latest insertion took place 8 months early. At the time it was inserted my GP stated that it had "gone in deeper than usual" and that I should keep an eye on it that I can still feel it!! 2.5 months later (Sept 2008) my hair started falling out. Alopecia had struck! I now have a bald patch of 6.5cm x 5.5cm on the left side of my head and two other patches have formed in the last week. I am under the care of a Tricologist who suggested that my Implanon could be to blame ... IT IS BEING REMOVED FRIDAY (but I had to wait 2 weeks for the appointment!) Today I have struggled to find it in my arm and my arm is aching, phoned the GP & call not returned yet! Suggestion (from personal experience) don't touch it!!! I now take Aloe Vera daily to boost my immune system and hope & pray my hair stops falling out and returns to normal after Friday......... Would like to know of your experiences following withdrawal from this evil contraception method |

| hi, i'm the exact same. got mine in july 10th and every single day since then i've had a headache, once a week i'd feel like i had the flu, i got very depressed and moody, i sleep non stop, and for the last month i feel that i'm preg 2, i pee on the hour, i'm constipated, i dont want to eat, 2 weeks ago i had 2 days of brown-pinkish spotting which could have been implantation bleeding i dont know cos havent had any period since going on it, i have a bad stitch in my left hip-rib area, cramps around womb area, i look bloated, have backache, soft gums, tingling boobs, am empty retching. if i'm not pregnant after all this i'll effing scream! i dont want to get out of bed or even see my friends to go out clubbing and i'm screaming at my 4 year old daughter non stop for nothing, but i cant put up with it any longer, i made an appointment for wednesday to get it out. i have chest pain, and my blood tests and urine tests all came back clear, even the doctors cant understand why i'm in so much pain. i cant wait till its out and maybe then conceive without any worry if i'm not already!! |

Hi everyone
I had my implanon removed on May 22nd, AF within 2 days. AF has been regular, but every month I've been convinced I was pregnant - quite common side effect it seems :(
Well, I did a HPT this afternoon - BFP!!! Obviously had to do another one ;) same result! Don't know if I'm 4 or 8 weeks - in fact, still don't believe it's happened... My point being, it's only taken about 4 months to conceive which I think is pretty acceptable.
So, all of you TTC don't give up hope just yet, and good luck xxx |

Hi. I was just searching the net cause I am getting my implanon out and wanted to know how long it would take to fall pregnant. Reading what some of you have written has me a little scared now.
This is my 2nd one, and I was told by my doctor that having it in for any longer then 6years in a row could cause you to be infertile.
When I get it out, it will have been for nearly 6years, and now I'm freaking out. I never really had any problems with it, the only side effects i had was some pimples on my arms and shoulders. Or so i thought. Just been reading up on it, and have found out that there are alot more side effects (that would explain alot for me) then i was ever told. I was also told that when it was taken out that my period and everything else would go back the the way it was before i had it. (lets wait and see)
My only advice to people thinking about getting it, READ and RESEARCH as much as possible. Dont just take your doctors word for it. |

Just warning everyone, I got pregnant the same week I got the implant taken out, I even had the morning after pill and still fell pregnant, I think it depends on the person, my baby is now 9mths and I just got implanon put back in, I'm scared of putting on weight though!! Actually
I even heard you are more fertile after being on contraceptives, different doctors say different things.. |

Hi guys.
I have been on the implanon for the last 3 and a half years. It was not easy to be on the implanon. sex drive was low, bleeding was going on for weeks at a time. I eventually got the second implanon removed on the 22nd of March this year and have fallen pregnant in July. I am writing this message to give hope to people. It is possible to become pregnant after the removal of implanon. Best of luck to all women out there trying to conceive. |

| I just had my implanon taken out Sept 17. I was on it for just over a year and I didn't like it. My doctor said that I would stop ovulating and evenutually stop have a period. But that didnt happen. If I missed one month the next I was bleeding for 2 or 3 weeks. But since Aug 16 my last cycle I havent had anything. I recently changed relationships from no sex to all the time sex. So I can't tell you if I'm pregnant or if its my hormones changing from removal. But I havent even spoted once since my cycle was over Aug 19. So I dont recommend the implanon but I'm also no help for those that are trying. And yes I am trying now too. |

| Hi rcfno1, i too am 24, i had implanon twice. First one for 3 years and 2nd one for 1 year. Had it removed in Jan 08 and still waiting for my period and no chance of pregnancy as i am not ovulating. My doc said the exact same thing but i was never told this- i was actually told that i could conceive the day after remova! My doc said your fertility may never return and that i should have been told this. i am worried and angry too. my doc is not taking it seriously at all. I was told i am too young to worry about infertility now and he will act in a few years time which i do not think is fair at all. No suggestions for you but just wanted to let you know i am in the exact same situation. Any one else have advice for us? xxxxx |
