| hi, i had the implanon inserted 5 weeks ago. i also feel very strong pregnancy symptoms but i have takin 3 tests and they are all negative. in the last week the symtoms have died down. i also have had symptoms of poor curculation. my legs and arms go a purple blotchy colour bur my doctor assures me that im fine. i also had very severe abdominal pain and shootong pains when i sat down. i am constantly bleeding lightly. i think that every woman is goin to have differen side effects at different stregnths. and they will all eventually get better. i would advise any one who has unwanted side effects to stick with it |

| i was wondering if anyone can remember what their dr told them how long to wait before the implanon took affect. i cannot remember, and i have had pregnancy symptoms, nausea, dizzyness, no period. I have only just had a new one put in and the other one was fine for 3 years. just wanting to know if it is instantaneous or do you have to wait a month |

| Thanks so much for your message! I'm a real worrier and when the rash and (very itchy)itching lasted longer than a week I assumed it was just my luck that something had gone wrong. Thanks for helping put my mind at ease! xxx |

| i had the same prob it goes away after a while try not to scratch it it is just the skin healing the wound ,mine was quite painful for some time ,i was told not to touch it or get it wet for a while .it is very rare to get a skin infection from implanon . i have had mine in for three years have not met many women that have it , i have found i put on weight it is a side effect ,but it is a sure thing and easy and you dont have to do any thing for four years. |

| Hi there. I've had my implant in for nearly 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone else experienced itching around the site of their puncture wound after insertion? I've been to my doctor who's given me some cream in case its a minor infection but I'm just terrified that I'm having a allergic rection to the implant. This is my last contraception resort so I'm really worried- does anyone have any information? Many thanks xxx |

I have had some milk expression, and really sore breasts too! And I havent breastfed for three years!! I have had my implanon in for 4 months and am getting it out today, as I am sick of it. I mean, it has its positives like I have not fallen pregnant and for the first 2 months I had no period (and then I had like 2 weeks worth). But the negatives seem to be outweighing for me. The main thing that annoys me is it has given me really bad acne, which is something I have never had a problem with. And not only on my face, I have pimples on my back and in my hairline and even in my ears!! But I also get hot-flushes sometimes (which through research have learnt this is from the oestrogen suppressive action), feel nauseated in the mornings and am more moody than before.
I am having my implanon removed today. Wish me luck!!
By the way, I had blood tests after I told the doc about the milk thing, and nothing showed up, but she assures me it isnt a side-effect on the implanon. Well, its back to YASMIN for me. |

| I just had my Implanon implant fitted and had a similar raised very itchy rash for the first 3 days afterwards - I thought I might be rejecting it so your anaethetic allergy theory is actually very comforting. Would just say that having it fitted definitely DID hurt no matter what the doctor tells you but hopefully it will be worth it in the long run. I had to come off Depoprovera after nearly 3 happy years as it started giving me breast milk (less than 1% get this apparantly so dont be scared), Implanon was suggested as it is the same hormone in smaller doses but I am still getting a little milk. Anyone else had this? It is very weird and certainly embarrassing in 'intimate' situations. |

Hi there
Yes, I have two daughters - a nine year old and a twenty month old. We had initially thought to wait a while before trying for our next (and last) child, but changed our minds because we decided we wanted sibling close in age to our toddler. She will be just over 2 when Baby #3 is born.
If you are trying to get pregnant after the removal of your Implanon - go for it and I truly wish that you get your wish. Just remember that the most important thing is too not stress too much - I know it can be hard, but try to relax and think positive!
Thank you so much for your good wishes, now am just waiting for horrible morning sickness to pass. I am awash in peppermint tea and ginger ale............ |

Hi, I've just had Implanon removed 3 day ago. I am not sure if I am having a reaction to the anaesthetic used or something. Basically where it was removed my arm has a raised rash which is itchy as hell. I've not slept a full night since removal due to this constant itch which makes me want to rip my skin off. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going nuts atm.
Cheers |

Hello there!
I wrote in to this site on the 12th of May telling readers that I had just had my Implanon removed and that I had experienced pregnancy-like symptoms. Well........... I've just found out I actually AM six weeks pregnant! That would have put my conception date around one to two weeks after the removal of my Implanon.
For anyone that is worrying - it might not happen for everyone, but it IS possible to fall pregnant straight away. Good luck! |

Hi everyone
I too have a pretty good Implanon story to tell - I've had it in for just over 2 years and went from light, regular periods to no periods (great way to save money!). Just in the last 3 months I have had a tiny bleed (like, one or two days only) on the 18th of the month, 2 months apart.
In the first 6 months I did wonder if it was the Implanon making me occasionally terribly nasty, lashing out, at unexpected times (generally at my poor husband). But that disappeared.
Now I'm going to have it out as we're ready to have another child, and I'm blindly kind of hoping that it will just be instantaneous! Trying to balance that with the knowledge that it probably won't be.
Has anyone got a story about conception after Implanon? |

| Yes - I had my Imlpanon removed after two months and had myself convinced that I had conceived immediately due to experiencing morning sickness-like symptoms. The more likely explanation is similar to women coming off the pill - each woman's body deals with the withdrawal differently. As mentioned, I experienced mild nausea for several days after having mine removed - it is possible your symptom of withdrawal is these headaches. However, at the risk of sounding like a paracetamol ad - if symptoms persist, see your doctor! |

| im 21 and had my implanon taken out a few months back. i do remember having some bad headaches, but all that seemed worthwile to just have it out. im not sure whethter mine was inserted properly or not and if the fact im skinny didnt help but i often felt a pulling sensation when i lifted heavy things. my periods were irregular, which i find unhealthy. however for the 3 years i didnt fall pregnant and none of my friends have any trouble. i didnt consider the scar id be left with either.... |
