Hi, I was on the Yasmin at the start of the year and had really bad side effects ie: Mood Swings, Anxiety etc... I recommend you get off it because it took me ages to recover! I have seen a naturopath to get my hormones running smoothly maybe you should consider doing the same!

| I was on yasmin for about 1yr and a half and I started to get really bad migraines for the last 6 months maybe longer, particularly around my inactive week usually during, and usually stopping right when I would start the active ones again. It sunddenly hit me it could be the pill doing that, and the doctor switched me over to microgynon last month. so far, no migraines, no mood swings, extremely light periods but.. i think i may be putting on weight. I'll see how I go next month. |

| I was taking Yasmin and i was getting horrible headachs the week of my periods so my gyno switched me to seasonique and i gained 10-15pds in a 4 month period..(weight i never gained with yasmin). I had horrible mood swings, spotting, break through bleeding, so i am now getting off of seasonique and going back to yasmin for now. Is there any other pill that doesnt cause such a big weight gain? |

| I am preparing to donate my eggs so the clinic had me stop bc all together for two months (1st time I've stopped since I was 17, now 29). Was taking ortho tri cyclen.. typical side effects, weight gain of only a few pounds though BUT they put me on yasmin due to the hormone portion for donating.. I have ONLY been taking this for one week and can already tell the bloating and weight gain and effect on my body. I plan to only take this for the donation and am going back to the ortho tri cyclen.. I do not like the effects at all. |

Wow i've been having these symptoms too on Yasmin - weight gain, bloatedness, unable to lose weight, excessive tiredness and lethargy, and I have days where I feel really down and/or irritable. I didn't consider it might be my pill.
I've always thought Yasmin was great, I was originally on Microgynon 30 and had irregular periods, bad skin, headaches etc, and Yasmin makes me regular as clockwork and has improved my skin, although it's still not clear. My periods have become a lot heavier recently though, and my last period, I was doubled up from the pain, which never normally happens.
I've been on Yasmin for 4 years, I think i'll start looking into other methods of contraception (not depo!) |

| I was on Yasmin for about a year , then we decided to start trying for a baby so I went off of it, after my son was born I went back on Yasmin and I was very unhappy with it, I was experiencing the same type of symptons that you seem to be experiencing. My doctor put me on the Nuva Ring, I haven't started with that yet but I hope the results will be better! Maybe you should ask your doctor about it. |

| I am going through the exact same symptoms. I thought Yasmin was the one for me when i first started, great skin, lighter periods but lately i have had the worst mood swings, weight gain and loss of libido. I hear they are bringing out a 20mg Yasmin that should do the trick but i don't know how long it will take to become available? |

| I was taking Yasmin for about a year. i have PCOS and found that taking it helped to regulate my periods and make them less painful and heavy. i lost a lot of weight and it actually stopped me from getting bloated! my skin also cleared up completely. i did find however that i suffered from mood swings and became more irritable. just wondering if anybody else had this problem? |

| Hi Lynnd, I am a Retired Nurse. It sounds like Yasmin does not agree with your system I strongly advise you to go back to your Dr & tell him all your side affects & he should put you on something else. As I am 56yrs old things have change a lot, Re birth control pills. when I was 20yrs old after the birth of my daughter I had what was called a coil put in & it had no side effects & it protected me for the next 15yrs. Maybe you could ask your Dr about having that. I'm sorry I may not be much help but it's the best I can do here. I hope you'll be alright. Please let me know how you got on.Good luck |

I am two weeks into my fourth pack of yasmin and dont feel like myself at all. First two months had normal loss in break week but last month just brown mucus. Lately I have been suffering mood swings, tiredness, loss of libido, abdo bloating and nausea.
Dont know whether to keep going with Yasmin or try something else. |
