| I'm sixteen and I've been using implanon since August 26, 2008. At first it was fine until I got my period. It's been almost 3 months and I still have my period. Sometimes the bleeding is red and sometimes the bleeding is brown/black. I have moodswings but no sign of hair loss and I haven't gained much weight. My doctor advised me to take advil or ibuprofen but it seems like it doesn't work. | Wow everyone seems to be having serious problems. i have a few questions for everyone and anyone. i got implnanon put in just over 3 months ago, i havent put on any weight (that i know of anyway since i dont have a set of scales). i havent had serious mood swings or much else. I do get some SERIOUS cramps though.. (also the best pain killers are anything with ibuprofen and paracetomal in it). I havent had my period yet but i recently started having some what i think is spotting.. whatever is coming out of me is kind of clotted and a bit brown which makes me wonder. what i want to know is if anyone else has had this and does it mean im going to get my period soon? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| well i had mine inserted jan 07 and for the first month everything was great after that i come on every month and will last for 2 weeks or longer also my period are light for the first 3 days and then heavy until they want to stop. i have bad mood swings almost all the time and as for my sex drive, well that no longer exists :( im always tired and i have never been to my gp for any advice because i feel he will just look at me stupid. im defo gonna go n c him now :) as for all your post, i am really glad that i found this site :) |

| Well I'm back it's been 2 months since I got Implanon. At first I was fine. After 3 weeks of having it put in my arm I started my period. It really hasn't stopped since. Well actually I had a weeks break in there but other than that I'm still going. It's not major bleeding. It's more like a little bit here and there. It's usually a dark looking blood and not red. Every so often it's pink but it's rare. I'm handling it pretty good I think. After all it's only been 2 months and my doctor told me to give it atleast 6 to 9 months for things to straighten out so that's what I'm going to do. I still have my libido ;-) the little bit of bleeding does kinda bother me during sex but it's nothing compared to what I've been through before with Depo Provera. There hasn't been any weight gain but I am extremely tired all the time. I hope this will pass. Other than that I'm perfectly happy with the Implanon and hope it works out for me. Like I said my doctor told me this might happen so this is no surprise and I'm going to wait the 6 or 9 months. If it doesn't work no big I'll just try something else. I'll update again in a month. |

| So I hope someone can give me some answers. I got the implanon about 2 1/2 months ago. The first three weeks I had no period then it started and hasn't stopped since then. Also, about 2 months into it I began to be very nauseous, sore, and so tired I can barely stay awake even when I have had over nine hours of sleep. Headaches are also a daily event. I have never had any of this before I got the implant. Does anyone else know how long this may last? | Hey, Im Thinking About Having An Implanon Because I Heard It Stops Your Periods ? Anyway's Iv'e Also Heard That You Could Get Deppression And Stomach Pains With It ? So Im Still Thinking To Have It Done Or not As Im Only 15. | Hi I found this site today and find it worrying that nobody seems to have the same problem as i have. I have had the implant for just over a year now and it sounded great at first. After a week of it being inserted, i came on an extremely heavy period which didnt stop for 7 months!!! (apart from a 2 day break) I went back to the family planning clinic where they suggested to give it to a year and it will settle down. So after 7 months i was having a two week period and then a week break. I decided to go back to the family planning clinic again where they suggested i have tests done for STI's. I was 99% certain i did not have one but took their advice anyway. So 2 weeks after a very uncomfortable examination, i was told i was clear of any infection so I am having another appointment with the clinic in the next few days. I seriously would not recommend this birth control to ANYONE, however, i think im going to stick it out until the 18 months mark as i have been on 2 types of pill (which made me stupidly moody and lose all sex drive....so whats the point in having birth control when you dont want sex, right?). Oh and another thing i forgot to mention - i am now on iron supplements as i now have iron-defficiency anemia. If ANYBODY had a similar problem, please get in touch as i love the idea of the implant but not having a very good experience. Thanks |

| mine was inserted 18 month ago. i am suffery from anxiety, i can get really anxious and it sometime leads to panic attack. my main concern now is the burning heat sensation on my head it's really scary and i am loosing my hair also pls is any one experiencing this, b'cos i am thinking of taking it out. not 2 sure if is imaplanon or something else as my Gp cant tell what is wrong. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Mine was inserted March '07 and my baby was 5months. I continued bf him till May '08 and no bleeding at all. But once i stopped bf, the bleeding starts hair wire. And sometimes the dark blood clot came out and no continuous bleeding. My libido is fine. My weight is ok too. | hi i'm a friend of previous post, this was my experience with it.... i had no sex drive for 12months & had no period for the 12months. i had ovary pain to the point of having to curl up into a ball on the ground no matter where i was. went to see my gp & had a ultra sound done & it revealed a 3CM sist on my left ovary. i was refered to a specialist out of town. had anothe scan & kept a watch on it. the pain went away for about 2 months & came back. went back to the specialist for a check up. they found the one on the left ovary was gone but had another one 3cm on the right side. it was hell & was not worth it at all!!! once i had it removed my bleeding was very very heavy & pain was bad for about 3months. but got over it all & will never go thru it again. hope this helps. seek help if bad pain & get checked even if u get no period. |

| I am so glad that i came across this site. Everything that has been mentioned i have had. I got mine in in july and it has been a nightmare since then. Constant heavy bleeding, severe mood swings, emotional( hysterical cryin), abdominal pain, headaches and more. Have done the course of Promolut and it only work while takin it. Thought i was just goin crazy cause the gp didn't tell me of any of it. | I got my Implanon put in exactly 1 month ago. I didn't bleed for 3 weeks and then when my period was due I started right on time but...I will be bleeding for a solid two weeks now. It's not really bad though. I am not bleeding heavily and actually its become really light bleeding and has changed from a red color to a brown. I do notice I have fatigue and I seem to be very emotional. My libido doesn't seem to have changed but this could be to early to tell. I've actually lost 7 pounds. I'm going to stick it out for 9 months like my doctor suggests because to me it's worth it. I was told about the irregular bleeding at first so this is no surprise. Depo made me bleed heavily for a solid year so my doc suggested implanon. I'm happy with it so far. | It is completly normal to have NO bleeding what so ever while on implanon and it does not mean you are pregnant. Don't be worried... It is also normal to have spots of blood and heavy bleeding or irregular bleeding. | To be honest it did hurt. But you will be fine... My reaction was "ouchh that hurts!"... and considering i am not good with pain i think i was quite brave. Honestly it is worth the pain, and the pain is over in a matter of seconds. | I honestly think that it must be a coincidence and not the implanon... cos it doesn't mention such side effects (like stomach pain or pain during sex).. Anyway, maybe I am wrong. I just got the implanon the other week and so far it is working good for me. Anyway I wish you luck and that you are healthy and that hopefully all these things will stop so you can keep the implanon in for the reason you wanted it in the first place. | I have had my Implanon for 10 weeks now. I have had near constant bleeding with maybe 1-2 days off per week. The bleeding I have experienced has been dark clots. I experienced this type of bleeding when I was on Depo shots which only lasted 4 or 5 months so I am hoping Implanon will be similar. I also have no sexual desire which I expected. I have been on some form of birth control since I was 16 (24 now and have been on depo, 3 different pills and NuvaRing) except for the 10 months prior to the implant and all methods caused this. The 10 months that I was on no birth control, me and my hubby were having sex about 2x/day but the condoms were getting expensive. Now we have had sex like 4 or 5 times since getting the implat. I have had no hair loss, I've actually lost about 20 lbs since putting in the implant (probably due to lifestyle change). I have no cramping, no acne, and no mood swings. I will be asking my OB/GYN about testosterone supplements when I go for my 2nd round of HPV vaccination to treat the sexual desire problem. I saw that is FDA approved for such problems. But I don't know when we are going to find a time between the bleeding. Overall, I would recommend it. |

| hi my name is brooke... i was wondering if anyone could give me any advice about the easiest type of birth controle... i'm on the patch now and i'm have some problems with it. my doctor suggested on switching it to something else but i am not good at takeing pills, the shot make you gain 30 lbs., and i cant do the ring thing... if anyone could e-mail me with advice that would be very helpful.... thank you brooke. brooke_helton@yahoo.com |

| Ive had the worse experience of my life :( ive had mega pains during sex, even if its slow and soft im in so much pain. I bleed everyday sometimes i get a couple of days off. Ive had blood clots, black looking blood coming out of me. Headaches. Ive been to the doctors twice, had to go to hospital once aswell to have a womb scan incase i had cancer of the womb. I have stomach pains to. The doctors refuse to take it out until 5 months of me having it put in is up. I cant wait, i just wanna be me again. I cant have sex, ive been told that i could have so many different things- wee infection, all in my head, cancer. I was fine until i had this in my arm.
