| Wow your story really rang a bell for me. I also started taking yasmin after having my second child and it made me feel anxious and depressed especially during a certain time of my cycle. But what surprised me more is that i also have been diagnosed with vertigo and it has turned my life upside down. Im wondering now whether it is related to taking yasmin? Im currently investigating a new pill that i can take... any suggestions?? Also what are you doing to help you with vertigo, other than taking nausea pills? |

| Hi, I am going thru exactly what you have said on the yasmin pill. my doctor put me on it just recently and I have had a terrible constant heavy painful period with a break of about three days since being on it for about a month. I have migraines, bloating, pain, pain, pain and feel fat, lethargic and depressed. Can you tell me whether things pick up after the first month or two, or if there is a better pill to go on? I'v been on the mini-pill ad it sent me psycho. What else is there to try? If you can help please reply. thanks |

| Hi, when i first started taking Yasmin pills my period didnt end for the whole month. I checked around with family and friends but it didnt finish until i started the active pills. i dont know what happened, it just wouldnt stop. i get moodiness, nausea and really tired all the time, and when i do have my period it hurts really bad. i gained weight also on it, but not too much. the reason i went on it was to cure my acne, but it has done nothing for me. Is it a good idea to try a different pill, ive only been on Yasmin for 3 months... thanks! |

Hi, I am having a problem. My gf and me had sex yesterday, the condone broke, I pulled out as soon as i felt i was going to ejaculated. She has never taken any BC pills before. My best friend used to take Yasmin, and when this happened she would take, 4 to 5 the same day and again the day after. She said this are her symptoms:
i feel sick and bloated
i feel like im going to throw up any second now
the thought of food irks me out
i feel angry and frustrated
and i don't want to go anywhere or see anyone
Please help us. we cant get pregnant right now as we are only 21. In the country we live in we have no morning after pill, the only thing we can do is go to a doctor, and that could put us in some serious problems.
please and thank you for your time. |

Hi Belinda,
I was on minulet and as it gives me the weight gain problems I had stopped and taking Yasmin...
After more then 6months taking Yasmin I feel edgy, anxiety, panicky and depressed too.But my doc said that couldnt be the pill doing it to me....
I am off it for a month now as we are planning for another baby but somehow or rather the depression and anxiety panic attacks still stays with me,but not that bad tho...
I hope it will go off from me after a good few months. |

I am also only on my 2nd day of Yasmin and I have nausea as well (like being pregnant again!!) I am also suffering from hot flushes and feel quite hot all the time. I had been on a pill called Norimin 28 day but had taken a break from it after discovering it was linked to the loss of my libido. I think all BC pills have unwanted side effects and I still think alot of research has to be done with BC pills in general. I read somewhere that they won't introduce a male contraceptive pill because of the side effects that it causes, What about us women and our side effects??
I have decided to stop taking Yasmin and look at other forms of contraception other than the pill. |

| Im just wondering, if I only started Yasmin 2 days ago would I already be feeling gross off it? I feel quite nauseous and hot... I don't want to stop taking it but I also don't want to keep taking it if this is the pill making me feel sick. I was previously on the depo injection but took a break between partners. Don't want to go back on it and my doc suggested this pill... |

I have been on Yasmin for about 1 and a half and it has recently been giving me problems. I feel sick, bloated etc day to night. I wake up feeling horrid and I fall asleep feeling literally like wanting to stab something through my uterus.
My periods a rare to appear, its been about 3 months or more since I had my last one, and when they do come they hurt like a bi***. I thought that the lack of my period for so long was making me extremely ill. I have also lost my libido, I cannot stop eating and its affected my bowel movement badly. I have other common symptoms that other people in here have mentioned.
It's been getting me down and affecting my education. I have missed many days of college because at times I cannot stand up because of the pain. I am going to my doctor for a new pill.
Hopefully, I will feel better if I come off Yasmin. |

| I have been on Yasmin since 2001. I went off it to have our second child. In the last 2 years I have been diagnosed with vertigo, migraine headaches, anxiety, depression. I stopped taking Yasmin 6 weeks ago, and I have never felt better in my life!! I am not a depressive person, and have always had a positive outlook on life. This medication screws you up ladies. If you check the site medications.com in th US, you will see Yasmin is the most complained about medicine on the site-over 4,600.. There is also a class action against the manufacturer. Be careful- this medication is described by doctors as a safe alternative- particularly for migraine sufferers. I was getting 3 a week on Yasmine- I have not had a migraine since I went off it. If you have been on this medicine for some time, it is truly worth going off it just to check if it affects you. When i told my Doctor i had no symptoms whatsoever since going off it, he replied "How did WE miss that?"- you have to wonder- I felt like my health and life was spiralling out of control as my family watched on in horror. Research this drug before blindly taking it because someone tells you its 'safe'. |

| Hi, I have a similar problem. I was on Yasmin for a year and then went off it for 3 months. Now I am back on it and I have notice some brown stains - almost like blood. It sounds similar to your problem, however I worry it could mean that it is not working.. |

| Hi i have also had a similar problem with the brown mucus discharge. i have been on yasmin for a few years and generally i have not had any problems with it. I just skipped a period and since then i have had the brown discharge. I am glad to hear others have had a similar problem in the sense that i thought i must have some how got an infection - but i did not have any other symptoms associated with infection - i will have to wait and see if there is any improvement with my next cycle. |

| I got really sick off Levelin, period lasting over 2 weeks and weight gain so the doctor put me on Yasmin. Reading this explains A LOT! Started getting clearer skin, light periods and losing weight. However now that everyone has been mentioning mood swings, loss of libido and really bad headaches I think it may be because of Yasmin because I do everything right to keep myself happy and healthy, but out of nowhere I get really angry if I didn't agree and I'm normally a happy-go-lucky person. However I like Yasmin and will probably stick with it. |

I've been treating my bloatdness as Bowel irratable syndrome and I have noe results and just today reading I realise that could be due my pill.
I would really apreciate if you could give me some information about yours symptons.I read that just 1% os women can have abdominal pain due to yasmin.Did you know?
Thank you,
Yours sincerely,

| Try Valette it has a different progestogen than Yasmin, but you may find it is the amount of oestrogen that is causing the problems so maybe try Levellen. |

I was on Yasmin for about a year. Everything was great, it regulated my periods, made them way lighter and cleared up my skin like you wouldn't believe.
I went off it for a couple of months to have a break, but when I went back on it, things didn't stay the same. In between periods, I had this constant brown annoying mucus. Not a proper period, but enough to p*ss you off. I persisted for a few months, but the same old thing kept happening. I'd have about a week out of a month of no menstrual action - so to speak.
For a pill that was $60 for 3 months, that isn't on the PBS and considered top market, I expected a lot better. Have gone off it comepletely now. But must say, I don't recall having issues with bloating or moodiness when I was on it. Something obviously changed in my body to reject it second time around.
Cheers |

| I've been on Yasmin for about 2 months and I experiecned moodiness too, i was snapping at everyone. I lost my libido and migrains too. I've stopped taking it because it made my boobs grow about 2 sizes and they were so painful- i felt so uncomfortable. Since I've stopped taking it my boobs have gone down to normal which is good. Can anyone suggest a pill that doesnt cause your boobs to grow so much??! |

| I am so glad to hear when i read your post that what i'm going through is due to Yasmin, i've only been on it for the last two weeks and i have the most dreadfull nausia, mini hot flushes, and i have no energy which is not like me usally, no wonder it says that you can lose weight on this pill it makes me feel like i dont want to eat, my Doctor has told me to try this pill for at least 3 months, but i dont think i would last that long if this keeps up not to mention the break-through bleeding i'm also getting from this so-called miracle pill, i will try to stay on it for the 3 months as maybe its just my body trying to adjust, but all i can say is if this is bc than bring on menopause! |

| I have been on the Yasmin pill for about 4 months now, I was on a liquid injection that I got every 3 months but I put on around 15kg so I went on Yasmin and I have now lost some weight but I am suffering from migraines, high blood pressure, cramps, hot flushes, nausia, etc... I have been told side effects can take up to 12 months to stop so I think eventually it will be worth it, if you want something that doesnt make you put on weight Yasmin I think personally is the best and the last thing any woman wants is to put on weight. |

| I have just recently gone off yasmin,I was on it for 5 months, the first time I have ever been on the pill,I won't try the pill again. The moods swings were unbearable,I really wasn't being myself,I was blowing up at everyone & I felt really out of control. On the positive I was getting no pain what so ever but but that just wasn't worth in the end. |
