That sounds traumatic!
How about trying high fibre/sugar?
Lots of fruit. |

Friend of mine has the same problem with her 4yr old girl. Won't poo - she holds it in all the time and does 'pebbles' in her pants all day. She also hides when she soils herself and now refuses anything to eat that will make her go. Her mum is going crazy PLEASE HELP!! Her 2nd child (3yr old) can go without any help at all.

My son hated the feeling of having to go to the toilet. I had make a game of it for when he needed to pee..pingpong ball in the bowl and sink it son..lol. With number 2's I had to kind of bribe with a freddo, as soon as the fear of not liking how it felt passed he forgot about getting a freddo.

Your child can't hold on to poo for days. If s/he is not going to the bathroom to poo it is because he has a little constitpation. I would suggest more fibre in his food,eg. Wholemeal bread, rice and pasta and more fruit and veges. Also plenty of encouragement that it good to go to the toilet, s/ he is a big girl or boy and they can flush it away and it is all clean. Resort to little presents occasionly or rewards, eg a game of ball, a book, a smartie vary them.

Scare him so bad that he'll just literally crap his pants. That's how I managed to resolve this problem with my child. He didn't like the feel of poo in his pants so now he knows that the toilet option is better.
