parents vs teachers rights Reply to this message
I would like to know what rights do parents have when it comes to food for their childs lunch box I have a kindergaten teacher that no matter what i send in MY childs lunch box it is not good enough I pack plenty of fruit, sandwich, cheese all healthy food but god forbid if i send one honey and oat biscuit (home made) or a home made muesli bar (that is reconmended by Nutrition Australia)i am not allowed to send these it has know got to the point that when my son is at home and I give him his dinner he asks if it's ok by his teacher if he eats it, he even asked me to ring his teacher to find out if he could it. this teacher is going to far and it is not even about good food for the kids it is about her power over parents and children we are allowed to send crackers biscuits the ones full of salt and deep fried but i am not allowed to send wholegrain fruit bread again home made, no juice or a banana milk shake (made with real bananas and fruit weetbix and low fat milk) i am not even allowed to send home made yogurt but i can put a store brought tub of yougurt in his lunch box this is abuse of power i have made complaints and gone to the committee but nothing has been done can any body give me advice on if this is legal i keep getting told that this is the schools policy and thats it. I am in a small town and this is the only place i can send him please help
