Ditch the concealer, wash your face once a day - over washing makes you produce more oil, use witchhazel (available at the supermarket) afterwards and drink heaps of water. Try the hot face-washer thing too once a week. I have very oily skin and I'm prone to break-outs, even in my 30's!! I also use a tissue to pat my face free of oil rather than washing. Remember, you are not alone!

It sounds like we had the same stuff. I tried all the antibiotics as well as the topicals...the only thing that worked for me was accutane. Proactiv helps with less severe acne but it is extremely drying. I have been using a Lactic Peel, R-ALA Gel and Vitamin moisturizer that I deiscovered back in December and I LOVE them. My acne is down to a minimun now but after so many years of trying to treat it, my face was dry, dull, had large pores and some red spots...not now! I can't believe how this stuff minimizes pores and redness! more info on these products at http://cgi.ebay.com/Pure-Deming-Face-Care-Product- Pack4-Acne-Prone-Red-Skin_W0QQitemZ5658357472QQcat egoryZ33164QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

hey there, im sorry to hear about your acne problems as i too suffer from acne. ive tried many things to get rid of them but they just dont seem to wanna leave but i am now trying something new. i am using dove soap first and wash ur acne with that and then i put benzoyl peroxide on it and just leave the benzoyl peroxide on ur skin it is like a cream kind of you rub it in to your skin. do this twice daily. this is just a suggestion you dont have to use it but i got it just yesterday and i can already see a huge improvement in my acne but it might not help you but give it ago and remember with acne sometimes you have to continue the treatment for months before you get any results. you could also try face scrubs but dont vigerously go out your face cos it could make the acne worse or have you tried putting ur face over a steamer if you dont have one just boil the jug and put it into a boil put your head over and put a teatowel over ur head this will soften your face and make it easier to squeeze black heads but even if you dont squeese the black heads it still improves your acne.
anyway give it ago.
good luck
rachael

I too suffer from bad acne the doctors wouldn't help me. then i found pro-activ and it works. Ihave been using it for just over 3 weeks and my skin is visibly clearer. But if you do decide to try it also get the moisturiser. Good luck with it

Hello dear Acne sufferer. Years ago I had some up and coming pimples etc etc and to kill them off, I used to wear a hot water face cloth until I couldn't stand it. That pulled the rubbish out because it continually opened up the pause of my skin and I won in the finish. NEED nothing else. best wishes, Ian

Hi brabbit, It seems that "traditional" Western Medicine isnt having the desired effect, have you considered going to see a naturopath or herbalist? These work very well for some people (myself included) the naturopath I used to see always used to tell me that acne is not the actual problem, its a symptom of something else thats going on inside your body, not neccessarily diet, but maybe hormonal. Give it a go!

Acne that won't get better Reply to this message
I am 18 and have acne and pigmentation problems...I have some cystic acne but am on minocycline 100MG. This is keeping thwe cystic acne at bay for the most part, however the toprical acne is horrible. its not white heads or black heads just bumps and some arent even red. I dont really shave much and dont have much facial hair. I dont know if the acne is caused because of this or because my facial hair is growing in? I also have differin and clindamycin phosphate to treat the topical acne which was perscribed by my doctor. still is wont go away. I use over the counter products as well. No help. My acne is very inconsistent; I use the products ritualistically and the acne will appear to be decreasing and then all of a sudden it worsens all at once and then will start to decrease again. Also, i use cover-up to conceal my acne. This is probably a problem. I need help and any for sure remedy or medicine.
