Hi there! I had my first daughter at the age of 19 years with no problems at all. Then when my husband and I tried for our second child about 1 - 2 years ago, I was advised that I had PCOS they put me on Metformin. This was to help me reduce my food intake I was frustrated at first because I wasn't obese or anything like that so I found it very frustrating when people around me who were 2 times bigger then me were falling pregnant. For the first year I wasn't much disciplined in taking them...then I think it was second year I started taking them consistently as well as trying to do some exercise like walking and running when I found the energy to. I fell pregnant in Oct 05 last year and I’m due in July this year.
So, it will happen. Continue to take your medication and try and do some exercise. Before you know it, you'll be pregnant in no time! |

Hi,
I too have pcos and I also have 2 wonderful daughters, the first was after no periods for 3 months. The second was after 10 months of failed clomid and going to the royal womens hospital in melbourne where they run a program called B.G.G. (big girls group) through the fetility clinic.
6months of excercise and watching what i ate with great support from all the girls there saw me 15 kgs lighter and pregnant. I'm sure every state would run a simaler progam
I hope this helps Robi |

| Hi there! I also suffer from PCOS and was only diagnosed about 14 months ago. My gynie is fantastic and has really helped me understand alot about my condition. I have achieved a pregnancy using clomid, unfortunately my son was stillborn @ 21 weeks as I went into the premature labour (not related to PCOS). I felt the same as you and was really nervous about the prospect of getting pregnant. Please don't give up as the chances are still good, it just may take a little longer or you may need some extra help. My advice is to see a good doctor, don't worry too much as extra stress can make conception even harder and ensure you are having sex around the right time of your cycle. If you would like to chat somemore about this please feel free to email me @ janelmarty@yahoo.com.au and I hope that I have helped you in some way. Good luck!!!! |

| My husband and I have been together for a long time and married this year. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and take metformin and synthroid. I keep reading that it will be harder to get pregnant and stay pregnant the first 3 months. I think I am reading too much and that scares me. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has has been successful with this or has any ideas or encouragement for me? |
