Hey Midijola,

Well I am on day 4 of the provera. I won't be trying this cycle because I don't have any clomid yet (and I don't ovulate on my own), but the doctor will prescribe it when I go in at the end of this month, so I will be trying next cycle. He wants me to have one good cycle after the miscarriage before we start trying again. I am nervous though because I am a senior in college, and I was out 2 weeks this semester, one for the miscarriage, and one for my grandfather's death, and I am so excited to try again but if I should fall pregnant and anything went wrong this time, I coudn't afford to miss any more class this semester! I'll just keep praying!

I'm so glad to hear that all is going well for you. I'm sure the symptoms are awful, but just be happy knowin that it's a sign that your little miracle is healthy and growing! :)

Today is Tuesday, so I'm sure you will be having your first appointment! I'll be thinking of you :) Good luck, and I'm anxious to hear how everything goes! Hopefully they will do another scan so you can peek in on your baby :)

Best of luck and I can't wait to hear your results!!

Hi Praying,

I am sorry to hear about your grandpa, man you have had a bad run lately. I hope things start to turn around for you really soon! Hope fully starting with provera today. All the best with that, you may be pregnant by the next cycle!?!?!

Thanks for your warm wishes. I have still had weekly blood tests and they are all coming back good. I didn't ask my HcG levels last call because I was in the bank when the clinic rang trough my results. But the week before they had jumped to 24000.

I have my first official OB appointment next week. Now I am on to see the OB I had with my daughter. I have been at a fertility clinic and everything has been with them.

Morning sickness has been pretty awful!! Just terrible nausea. I have an iron clad stomach, I think if I could throw up I would feel a lot better, even with having a lap band and when something gets stuck I can never throw up. (sorry this is really gross) even when i desperately try to get the stuck food up by putting my fingers down my throat all I ever do is gag.

Still pretty sore breasts. I have to wear a sports bra to bed else i wake up during the night and they are very very sore. But I think they look better LOL fuller and more perky!!!!LOL Already cant sleep on my stomach, just pressure on my abdomen area. Apparently after a 1st time pregnancy you start to show earlier, as the uterus has already been stretched before. Not that i am showing but sleep is already disturbed coz I usually sleep on my stomach.

But other than that we are getting very excited. Havent told anyone yet, not even our daughter...too big a secret for a 4yr old to keep. We are going to announce at my daughters bday party and I will 18 weeks. Will probably tell our parents at around 13 weeks. Its fun to talk about it on here cos there is no one else I can tell....anyway take care hope the provera works out well for you. My first appointment is on Tuesday and will probably have another scan then

Di

Midijola,
I am SO sorry that I haven't written you. You have definitely been in my thoughts and prayers. I was out of town for a week and just returned. My grandfather passed away February 18. I took it pretty hard, as he was like a father to me. I went to my hometown for a week to console my grandmother, and she does not have internet. Now I am busy playing catch up at school. I missed a week with my miscarriage, and now another week, so I have a lot of work ahead of me.

I am SO happy to hear that your scan went well! That is amazing that you saw the heartbeat! How wonderful. I am so glad that everything is going well for you and I will continue to pray for you! Please keep me updated and let me know the progress! :) Have you had anymore bloodwork or scans?

Well March 1st I start taking provera for 10 days to induce a period, then after one good cycle I get to start takin clomid with the provera. I am so hopeful that this time everything will work out. My doctor is going to give me progesterone suppository prescriptions from the start to take each month after ovulation, so that should help put my mind at ease.

Anyway, I better get back to my studying here, but keep me posted, I can't wait to hear your update!!

Hi there,

Well I had my scan today and another blood test and everything is looking really good. I saw the heart beat today, my husband seems more excited than what I am. Of course I am very excited but still nervous. My bloods came back and they are also good. My HcG is up to 23000 which is good and she said basically all my hormones have jumped up, so everything is looking good, which i am relieved to hear.

Praying, how are you going? Hows school? I hope you are doing well...take care.........Di

Re:Trying to for a baby with PCOS! Reply to this message
Hi Praying,

I am happy for you in your tone of voice that you write. You sound very upbeat and excited about your future baby prospects. Thats really great and I am happy for you!!!

I am glad that everything has happened naturally for you so that you didnt have to have day surgery, or whatever it is they do. Good luck with the clomid. I have had much success with clomid, my daughter now almost 5 and the newest pregnancy all with clomid. I have never been able to conceive without it. Its great too that you will be doing everything under the direction of your OB, you could be pregnant again within 3 or 4 months...here hoping and praying for you that it will happen soon for you!!!

Just be prepared to be a bit of a pin cushion when you are tracking with clomid...you will have about 5 - 6 blood tests a month(thats what I have had...yours may be different) but its all worth it.

I have been experiencing waves of morning sickness. I never had it bad with my daughter, and so far so good, but certainly feeling quite 'green' at times. But that can only make me smile as it means all is good. I am looking forward to Wednesday as the u/s will allow us to hear and see the heart beat which will be good.

The semester starts in another week then its back to the grind at uni. How did you go with your exams? I am very happy with my summer class results, my hard work paid off. I am in my senior year...how long have you got to go? I have 7 classes left, but will take next semester off cos of the baby(God willing) and we plan to go visit my husbands family in UT with the new baby and be there for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Well thats the plan atleast...we shall have to wait and see how the year pans out,

Take care.....Di

Hey Midijola,

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, trying to catch up after being absent from classes for a week has been very time consuming!

I'm sorry to hear that your levels aren't rising as they want them, but I wouldn't get too worried yet. I briefly looked on it too and it seems that you are in the normal range. When they took my levels (at about 6 1/2 weeks) and they were really low the nurse told me also that sometimes it takes a little longer to double and that every woman's body is different. She also said that at 6 1/2 weeks they like to see them in the 6,000 range, so from what my nurse told me, it seems like you might be on track. Keep the faith, and I will keep praying for you! I am anxious to hear how your next blood draw and ultrasound goes, you'll have to let me know!

Things are slowly getting better here. My HCG dropped back down to normal levels and so I was able to complete the miscarriage naturally. I have finally stopped bleeding. I can't wait to start trying again, my doctor wants me to have one provera induced cycle and then he will be giving me clomid and progesterone supplements to start trying again! I can't wait and I hope that this time it doesn't take 13 months to get pregnant again :(

Anyway, I better get back to my homework here. Keep me posted on your results this week, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your little miracle! :)

Re:Trying to for a baby with PCOS! Reply to this message
Hi there,

Well I had a blood test on Wednesday and results that have come back are questionable. She said that my HcG probably should be a lot higher. The last test had my levels at around 700. This next test 9 days later only read at 6000. She said that HcG levels are supposed to double every 48 hrs, this should mean that my levels should have been up around 11000.

She did however say that this sometimes can happen and everything can still turn out fine. So as soon as I got home that day I googled HcG. For my timing my levels are within range and most sites I read that HcG can take 48 - 72 hrs to double. Hopefully in my case thats how it is.

I am still having many other symptoms which just means the baby is growing cos my hormones are raging. Its just the dreaded waiting game. I will have another blood test next week and also an ultrasound. I will be 7 wks then. My progesterone is all good. Will have to wait and see.....Di

Hi Praying,

What devastating news!! I am so sorry for your loss. How are you dealing with it? You sound very strong in the last post you wrote. In some consolation your waiting to find out is finally over. I just cannot even imagine what you could possibly be going through.

I didnt know what a bicornuate uterus was so I googled it and had a little scan of what it describes. I am glad for you that you finally have more information as to what is causing the miscarriages. Hopefully with this new discovery you may be able to be armed with more information to help you next time. I wish you all the blessings and health for next time.

As for how I worked out you are in the US it was just a couple of words you used like: your 'professor' and that you are in 'college'. As I may have mentioned I lived in the US for 5 yrs and I know that is the terminology used. Plus we say here 'lecturers' and 'university'respectively. Plus the full give away was when you talked about being a 'Mom' as we are called "Mum' here.

I am also majoring in marketing and doing a minor in PR. I have an exam tomorrow and had a major assignment due late last week. That is why I have not responded in a few days.

As for me, everything is still heading along fine, I have resorted to wearing a sports bra to bed as my breasts are so sore without any support. Not much cramping anymore just a little now and again. I think I have started getting a little morning sickness already. Just a bit of nausea in the late mornings. Its about the time it starts to kick in I guess.

Once again I am so sorry for your loss, I hope you and your partner can be a strength for each other to get through this difficult time. Thankyou for being so selfless in asking how I am doing too. I have another blood test on Wednesday to confirm hopefully that all is well. I am 6 wks today...take care

Hello All,

Well it is officially done. I passed the baby a couple of days ago, and since then my HCG have been dropping, they are now down to 75, and the nurse is hopin they will drop back down below 15. They did an ultrasound to confirm, and the sac and everything is gone. :(

They also discovered through an ultrasound that I have a bicornuate uterus, which can pose even more fertlity problems than the PCOS alone. I'm just very concerned because my only dream is to have a healthy baby someday, and I just hope that it is still achievable given these conditions. I will never stop hoping and praying. I can't wait til the bleeding stops and I have my first cycle so that we can start trying again.

Midijola- I haven't heard from you in awhile. I hope all is going well with your pregnancy, I am thinking of you and wishing you the best of luck!! Keep me updated!

progesterone levels, and I will be sure to ask for suppositories right away next time, even if just for the peace of mind. I just wish I knew what was causing my miscarriages so I could prevent them in the future.

Anyway, sorry to go on about myself so much. Midijola, how is your blood monitoring going? Are you experiencing any symptoms yet? Let me know how your pregnancy is progressing, I am so hopeful and positive for you and will continue to pray.

Midijola,

Thank you for your care and concern, it really means a lot. Yes, I am in the US, what was your clue? I noticed after I joined that this was an Australian post but I figured PCOS is still all the same, no matter where we are :).

I think I pretty much got everything figured out with my professors regarding my exams, so that's good. I did one this morning to get it out of the way. I am studying marketing management and Spanish, how about you?

Well, I am getting confused about this whole miscarrying process. I have been bleeding pretty heavy since Sunday evening. A lot of bright red blood, and clots too. Last time I miscarried I took a pregnancy test just a couple days after to see if all the HCG was gone, and I got a negative. I am very confused because I took a pregnancy test yesterday afternoon, and it was EVEN DARKER than the one I took before, way darker. I was very confused, and my nurse called me because they have been checking my HCG daily to see if I am decreasing like I am supposed to (to indicate I am naturally miscarrying). She said my HCG levels are rising...not doubling...but rising. The first jump was from 450 to 484. She thought this was strange as well because I am definitely passing A LOT of blood and clots, so I know I am miscarrying and not just spotting, but then why are the levels rising instead of dropping? She said that it could be ectopic pregnancy, multiple fetuses (unlikely because I had an ultrasound already), or maybe my body does not want to let go. I am anxious to find out if they are still rising. I was hoping to just miscarry naturally instead of going through the process of a d&c. I go in for bloodwork tonight and to the doctor tomorrow so we will see. I am just still very depressed and devastated. I want to try again soon bu and so afraid because all I know is miscarriage. Oh, by the way, my progesterone came back at 8.4 at about 6 weeks, this is low right? I guess it confirms that I have low

Hi there praying,

It breaks my heart to hear about your news. I am so terribly sorry!!! I cannot imagine at all what you must be going through. I have only just picked up that you must be in the US are you? I just assumed you were Australian cos this is an aussie yahoo site. But thats totally OK cos as we all know the net is global :)

I am also a full time student at university. But it is summer break right now. I am doing a summer class right now and have an exam next week. I can totally relate to the stress of exams.

You need to understand that your professors probably have wives and possibly children themselves. I am sure they would be simpathetic and would understand. They would/should allow you to defer your exams. Plus I am sure you should be able to get a doctors certificate too, I have deferred an exam before due to bad illness with a note. Maybe try to defer only 2 and sit the others?(to alleviate extra stress of 4 exams later)

Man your visits to the ER must be way expensive...I hope you have good insurance. A visit here to the ER doesnt cost us anything. All our basic medical is free. I have private health only because I knew I would need help to fall pregnant.

What are you studying? I know this is off the subject but I am trying to help you think of something else.

My husband is american and I lived there for 5 years when we were first married. My 5yr old daughter is an american/australian citizen, by the way I live in Perth Western Australia

....I just hope you may feel His love and comfort at this time of need. Take care

Re:Trying to for a baby with PCOS! Reply to this message
Hey Midijola,

Well, I am sure I am miscarrying. I had brown spotting all day, and then within the last few hours it has become bright red. I have passed some tissue and clots. I know I haven't passed the sac yet... I guess I'll just have to wait until that comes. When I was in the emergency room last night they told me to return if my bleeding got heavier, but I think I will wait to go in. The emergency room here is awful... I had to sit there in a cold room with nothing but a little thin sheet draped over me for 4 1/2 hours waiting. When I am feeling miserable like this that is the last thing I feel like doing. I think I will wait until I start to pass heavier stuff before I go in.

I am a full time college student so I don't know what to do about that either! I have 4 exams this week, and my professors are males so I don't really feel comfortable explaining the situation to them, but I need a very very good excuse to miss exams. There is just so much grieving and depression I am going through right now, and the stress of school on top of it... I don't know how I will get through this, just pray I guess.

Midijola I wish you success for your pregnancy. I have been, and will continue to pray for you, I pray to God that this does not happen to you. Be positive and believe, and hopefully your little miracle will make it longer than mine did. I will still check frequently to see how you are doing, and I look forward to hearing all your news.

I can't wait to see my 2 little angels in Heaven someday, but at least now my first little angel has a brother or sister to keep in company until mom and dad can join them.

Hi Praying,

I am so saddened to hear about your news! I just truly cannot even imagine what you are going through right now. I really dont know what to say about your whole situation and I am sorry I dont have really any advice to give.

I will keep you in my prayers at this time. And just know that Gods will, will be done and that he knows what is the best thing for you. Things sometimes dont turn out the way we like and He knows best, but if things dont turn out....just know that what He has around the corner will only make us stronger and he has another plan for us all. The other plan may be just far more better than what any of us can ever imagine!!!

I'm not sure what the right things are to say. My deepest hopes and prayers goes out to you....take care and keep us posted with your results.

Re:Trying to for a baby with PCOS! Reply to this message
Hey everybody,

Midijola- how have you blood tests been coming back? Is everything going smoothly for you? I hope so, I will continue to pray for you.

Well, I am pretty much devastated beyone belief. Yesterday I had some VERY LIGHT brown spotting. It was very very light and wasn't much at all, but since I am high risk and very worried I went into the emergency room. They gave me a pap test and my cervex was still closed and the blood was old blood (very dark brown). There was no "new" red blood or anything, so I was still hopeful. Then they gave me a vaginal ultrasound. My gestational sack measured 3-4 weeks (very tiny the doctor said), and they could not see the baby in the sac. I was supposed to be 6 weeks 3 days yesterday. I know that their estimations are a little bit off because I have a clearblue digital fertility monitor and so I know my exact days of ovulation. I ovulated 6 days late, and they are basing my pregnancy weeks as if I would have ovulated on day 14. This means that technically I could realistically be 5 weeks 3 days, not 6 weeks 3 days. I want to hold on to some hope, but still, worst case scenario I am 5w3d, but then why is my gestational sack measuring 3-4 weeks if nothing is wrong?? They took my blood to measure my HCG and progesterone, and they are going to call me back with the results today. They basically told me I'm going to miscarry and there is no hope...

Should I still have faith and believe that maybe they are wrong? Considering my weeks are off, is there any possible way if I am really 5w3d that my sac can be measuring small and everything is still ok?? What should I do?? I am so devastated and emotionally drained. I am reliving the worst experience of my life all over again, and I don't know if I am strong enough to suffer through this again. I don't want to hold on to a glimmer of hope though just to get let down all over again. I go back for more blood work tomorrow and then next Thursday or Friday

Hey Midijola,

How exciting that we are having our babies so close together, it will be nice to have each other here for comfort throughout our pregnancies!!

I'm glad to hear your progesterone levels are good! What a relief! How about metformin? Were you on it before you got pregnant, and if so are you continuing it through your first trimester?

Are your breasts sore during the day too or just in the mornings? Like I said, mine are only in the mornings or when I wake from a nap, I don't understand it!?!

Well congrats again on the BFP!! I look forward to hearing all about your progress! Only one more week until my appointment and I can't wait, I am just praying for the best!!

Fortheloveofanimals and Cornell, welcome to the post! Tryin to conceive with PCOS can be such a frustrating and trying thing to go through! We are all here to help each other so feel free to ask for advice or share your stories!! I look forward to getting to know you!!

Hi Praying,

Well I guess we will both be having babies close together. When I got my results on Wed from my bloods I asked how my prog. levels were and she said they were very good.

But I will get weekly tests over the next month to track my pregnancy. As for symtoms for me...just cramping and very sore breasts...worse in the morning and and as soon as I take my bra off.

I think it will be fun to discuss our progress as we go through our new journey...take care, only 1 more week till your app.

Midijola,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so extremely happy for you! What a wonderful feeling to finally be pregnant after trying for so long! What wonderful news! I know exactly how you feel :). Now we both must play the waiting game...it's so hard! Keep me posted on everything. Will you be going on progesterone supplements or any medications for this pregnancy, or did the doctor prescribe you any already?

I have been doing alright. My cramps are pretty much gone, and I have no symptoms of being pregnant. It scares me so much, but I am trying not to worry. I noticed that my breasts tend to be very sore when I first wake up in the morning, but by the time I shower for the day they feel completely normal and I don't feel anything until the next morning all over again. I will be 6 weeks tomorrow. Any explanations for why it's only in the mornings, and does anybody know if it's ok not to feel anything at 6 weeks?

Well I'll be praying for all of you ladies, it's so nice that we all can come here to support each other! Good luck and baby dust to all!

Hi Cornell, i went through what you have described while i was TTC on clomid. i wasn't given any progesterone until i actually got a confirmed pregnancy.i think my obyn is amazing and highly recommend him but i live in Sydney :)
I did 21day progesterone checks and they found that 50mg of clomid wasn't enough to stimulate ovulation when i up the dose to 100mg i fell pregnant. all the best and lots of baby dust to you.

Re:Trying to for a baby with PCOS! Reply to this message
Hi, the funny thing is I asked my RE/OBGYN Specialist about progesterone creams/suppositories etc and whether I should take it while TTC/on clomid and he said No. He has only given me a Day 21 test for progesterone levels and won't discuss any other options and is against me even having an ultrasound to check for follies! So I guess I will just have to wait and see and hope if I fall pregnant for the third time I won't miscarry again, not sure if I miscarried because I wasn't given progesterone, I feel helpless and at the mercy of these specialists. I am too scared to purchase any progsterone cream or take any natural herbs etc because it might interfere with the 50 mg Clomid/1000 mg Metformin treatment. Both times I feel i miscarried during the time my period would have come (around 4-5 weeks for me). Arrgh other than Jesus not sure I can trust any of these humans!! Anyone in Melbourne who was treated for PCOS and infertility issues successfully by a caring doctor?? sorry to vent, I am soooooo frustrated...any advise will help. And good luck to all you women going through the same darned trauma as I am, atleast we can support each other in our longing to have a child...sending you all baby dust

Hi fortheloveofanimals,

I had lapband surgery 10 months ago and have lost 40kg which is more than 80lbs. I did it for the purpose of trying to fall pregnant. Even with my weight loss I have needed help to conceive.....

But today I got the phonecall and I am officially 4 wks 2 days pregnant after more than 2 yrs trying....It still hasnt hit me yet. But I will get weekly blood tests to make sure everything is as it should be....

How are going Praying?

Di
