| Hi all This is an amazing tale. Our 3 year old German Shepherd Rex has a habit of chewing up brochures. Recently we discovered he had carefully chewed out 15 mumbers from a brochure which were all in tact. He left them carefully in a pile away from the rest of the brochure he had been chewing. None of our friends or family could believe it but it is true. As a result we have been using the numbers for lotto. No luck as yet but when we do there will be lots of goodies for Rex. German Shepherds are very intelligent but what a freaky thing for a dog to do. Has anyone else had an experience like this? |

Hi, my story is, my sister has a gorgeous Pittbull Terrior named Siar (Master) but it has the habit of pulling out their garden. After putting in a landscapped garden full of trimmed hedges & bamboo fencing Siar enjoyed pulling out there thousands of dollars of garden from their backyard. It was inevitable that they had to do something to stop him. After trying everything from chilli, to doggie treats etc they had to install an electrical wire around it. The first afternoon it was installed Siar was curious as to what this wire was. He was quite scared of it but eventually had to touch it, with low voltage Siar walked over and out of all places put his nose to it. With the video camera in hand we captured the most funniest moment in history. Siar touched it with his nose & it zapped him, i have never seen Siar jump so high in his life. Poor Siar but Very funny. Now they don't leave it on he just thinks that it is & After that he never went to the garden again.

| My partner and I rescued our beautiful staffy, DJ, from a horrible home, he would have been at least 12mths old. He was underfed, mistreated & neglected to the point where he didnt even know how to play with a toy. He used to cower everytime we showed him a toy, run away everytime we threw a ball. My partner and i were slightly concerned about how we would go in training him, we tried showing him what to do by playing with our other dog, toby. But everytime toby growled DJ would snap at our face or hands! My partner and i were quite concerned, thinking he may not be smart enough to learn, but persisted in showing him it was ok to play, only growling him if he snapped at us. 2 months later and a hell of a lot of training, he finally learnt tug of war. That was it! every toy he picked up we could pick him up off the ground because he wasn't letting go! Again we trained him with toby to fetch and if he let go when he came back he got lots of praise. 2 weeks later he picked it up and eventually all of toby's toys ended disintegrated all across the back yard! I brought a rope, one with a knot at both ends (thinking it would last) and DJ loved it, my partner was playing in the backyard with him one morning and accidently threw it in the top of the tree, having to catch a bus to work he didnt have time to get it down and ran out the door. Coming home late that afternoon he found DJ sitting under the tree howling up at his toy, God knows how long he had been there! He watched DJ doing circles under the tree, trying to jump up the tree & the fence (which was next to the tree)and then watched him figure out that if he puts his back on the fence and paws on the tree he could CLIMB THE TREE! We now know he's not stupid! Its only an act to get our attention which he's now proven so many more times! |

| Hi ,My little dog's name is Tori. She is a Maltese /cavalier cross. She is an adorable little dog and all our friends and family love her. She loves to play with her toys. The thing about Tori is she can get on our roof. How you might as? Well our back yard is big and sloppy. The pagola meets the ground. The roof meets the pagola. It is not unusual to come home and see our little girl up on the pagola sunbaking. She perhaps was a princess in a former life. Her favourite person is my husband. She races around very excitable when he gets home from work(bit like a 2yo when daddy gets home). She loves the ca and know the word 'CAR' as her head tilts to one side. Also 'work' and "daddys home" amongst saying to her that other members of the family are home or a special visitor who she know so well is here.Tori is our best little friend. She sits on my lap at night as I watch tv. She has been taught a special trick when we give her a treat or her food...We say :ITS NOT PAID FOR' Then when we are ready we say 'CHEQUES IN THE MAIL' Tori won't touch it till we say so. Hope you have enjoyed this story about our little doggie Torie. |

| My hubby and I have a hand-reared scaley-breasted lorikeet called Oscar. We taught it to say 'good boy', and oh boy - weren't we knocked over when 'he' laid an egg! She is the funniest, cheekiest and most loving pet I have ever had. She adores my hubbys keys and will hop up and down until she has them. |

cheeky wallaby Reply to this message
I was a wildlife career a few years ago, amoung one of the many animals i cared for was a wallaby, she came into care as a tiny little bald baby just a few months old, on one particular day my son then about 8 come home from school very upset after asking what the problem was he said he had forgotten to do an assignment and hand it in that day, he had been given till the next day to do it, so he and i went to work on it and all was finished by bed time, we left it on the coffee table to grab as we were leaving in the morning, my son went to get it when i heard the almighty scream, the wallaby had decided she wanted to play and had grabed his assignment and took off with it with my son and i in toe, every so often stopping to change direction and have a munch, when we finally got it from her it was half eaten and bits missing, my son looked up at me in horror and burst into tears, all ended well when i explained to his teacher what had happened, she made a big deal of it in her classroom and we all had a good laugh which i still do today nearly 10years on |

Our little Cattle X girl loves to chew, but will only chew what she knows she's allowed to. Her favourite at the moment is a black plastic pot.
Yesterday, we took a picture of her, happily chewing around the rim while she held onto it by standing in it with both front paws! It was priceless! |

can't think of anything funny at the moment that my pets do
but the cat does annoy me sometimes, if she considers the dogs have been inside a bit too much she will go to the bathroom and pee on the bathmat (yes she does have a kittylitter tray) |

I have a shelter cat named Salem, he is so beautiful, he is jet black...and I love him to peices.
Last december I recieved my uni letter of offer and I was so excited I ripped it open on the lawn, read the good news, screamed and ran at the door.
Salem was outside at the time, thought it was a game and also ran at the door except he reached it first and ran head first into it. He fell over, kinda sat there looking at the door and walked away, a bit wobbly. |

Hi there,
I have a black netherlands dwarf bunny who I named BB (half cause his black and my fav singer is BB King, and half cause his a Bad Bunny). He loved to chew the carpet we had when I got him (since it's been pulled out), but this particular time, i was still in bed asleep, when I heard my mother calling to me from the kitchen yelling "he's out! he's out!" when i rolled over in bed to face my door, he was sitting in the door way (i still had carpet in my bedroom) looking at me, and looking under my bed. By the time I thought, "don't you dare" and reached over, trying to close my door, he had dashed under my bed, and there he stayed, nibbling happily on the carpet. His personality and character make me enjoy every day I live. He's the best pet I have ever owned!
Have a great day all!

Let me tell you about our dog, Rex!
We got him last year from the RSPCA and from the moment we got him home, he has been a real joy to have.
He is a Blue Cattle Dog X and is just lovely. Everyone who comes across him falls in love with him too.
It seems that in a forma life, Rex was an AFL player, as when we throw one of his ball's or toy tyre, he loves to jump up really high in the air to collect the ball or toy!
He's great in the car, just gets in the back seat and sits there quietly untill we get going and then he falls asleep.
Yes, Rex is a great mate and we are so glad to have him home with us! |

| This story isnt funny as it is freaky. Not long after I rescued my bart (lab X bull mastiff) when he was 3 months old from the pound, he became very sick with parvovirus. The vet told me he would probably die, I should just take him home and make comfortable. Or alternately I could leave him at the vets and they would do their best but it would be costly. At that point I was already in love with Bart, and so I told the vet, do what you can, I dont care how much it costs. So, a week (and $500) later... the vet rang and said Bart had surprised them all and I could take him home! Not a minute later I got a phone call to say a very close friend of mine had passed away, she was a passionate animal lover. So, Bart to me is a very special dog. He is 7 years old now and we have been though a lot together. Bart recently had a big operation on the cruciate ligament on his hind leg and even though it cost us more than $6000, and even though he is not the same dog, at least now he can walk without falling over. (He is 68kg of pure dog... he needs all his legs to get around). There is nothing we wont do for Bart. |

| I called the new dog Rosie and her and Max are always together. They even have their own lounge to lay on in the tv room but aren't allowed on any of the other lounges in the home. Max just mothers Rosie as his own, strange for a male dog. I live on a farm and to top it off Max is a cattle dog but bolts from cattle, would rather be in the cofines of the back yard and the house. |

| I owned a Servo and in June 2000 a customer asked me if she could put a box out the front with pups to give away so I said yes. The first to go was Max (my dog now) to a young girl living in a flat on her own. I had doubts about her but she said she would look after the dog, after a few days she came back into the servo so I asked about the dog and all she did was whinge that it never stopped wimpering so I asked her what she was feeding it and she said nothing so I told her to bring the dog back which she did. The same day I found a new owner but after 2 days they brought the dog back. That afternoon a local bus driver called in and he said that he knew of another bus driver that wanted a blue heeler and that he would pick him up the next day so I took the dog home that night. Next day bundled the pup up into the ute and off to work we went. Waited all day but the bus driver never turned up, I just didn't know what to do next but just looking at the pup I knew that he must want me as his owner so I relented in myself and took him home that night as my own. Each day I took Max to work and he became so used to children as the bus stop was outside the servo so the kids used to come in and play with him till the bus arrived. There was a female dog across the road that used to frequent the servo so they got on fine but I noticed that when I took the Max out for him to do his business he would squat to do a pee but I thought that would change but to this day it hasn't as I found out that another male dog shows other males what to do but Max was always around female dogs. Over time he became more uncontrollable but I didn't know what was wrong and I was at the end of my tether when a customer came in and told me that her sister had an 8 month old female blue heeler to give away otherwise the dog will be put down. Not wanting that I went and had a look at the dog and she was so skinny so I said that I would take her. To my surprise Max took to her like a duck to water. |
