Hi Bree,
I have had my male cavoodle puppy for about a month now, and funny enough i have noticed him playing with cats poo - not his own. Our neighbours next door have a couple of cats and we have a feeling that they might be doing their business and burying it in some sand at the side of our house, which is where my little one is getting it from. I know that it isn't his own poo as he doesn't eliminate anywhere near that part of our backyard. I am thinking to possibly sprinkly some black pepper over the area as this may stop him from going there and i have also put something ontop of the area to try and stop him from getting into the sand area. Hope all goes well with your little puppy and that he stops eating poo! |

| Hey, I too am fifteen and got my chihuahua for my birthday. She sometimes eats her own poo, and i know of other small dogs who eat their own poo. Sometimes they grow out of it, but i do know older ones who havent grown out of it. My dog, though, eats her dog food aswell. If your dog isnt eating ANYTHING at all besides his poo, thats something you should talk to your vet about. |

Coprophagia (poo p eating) is very common, especially in young puppies - and also especially with Chihuahuas.
Your puppy will most probably grow out of this habit, but in the meantime you can try some of these techniques - http://www.dog-obedience-training-review.com/stop- dogs-eating-dog-poo p.html |
