I dont think its a trigger - I have 2 maltese x sh-zu's and both hate thunder storms. I think most dogs do! Jasmine runs around in the rain and barks at the thunder, Jemma on the other hand hides under my skirt and shivers until it has passed. My friends Staffy actually broke a secure screen door it was so frightened and only a few months back I was at my brothers and a stray dog just ran in to the house panting because he a heard the thunder from miles away before it even got there. If you have tried medication did the vet say anything else that could help. My old girls are now 15 & 16 so over the years if I have been home - I just put them in the basket and not over pamper as I have heard that makes it much more worse confirming their fears. But saying that the baskets are inside not out. I wish you the best and good luck.

How to help a weather sensitive dog?He used to start shaking & panting when it thundered, but gradually shook with the onset of rain.He starts to shake & pant well before the rain starts.Seems to be affected by geometrical forces.Have tried medication.Want to try de-sensitising cd,but can't find one.Hope someone can help.If it is geometrical, how can I combat this?He is a 5 year old maltese x poodle.Has been like this for about 3years.Don't know what triggered it off.
