| I had a dog which had a similar problem my vet told me to stop feeding it red meat and anything containing wheat product this worked a treat her skin problems cleared up, i found it easiest to cook her meals myself so i knew what was going in to them rather then trying to find a dog food that met her requirements. She also had allergies to some types of grasses and plants which i had to remove from the backyard by process of elimination. |

| Working out what is making a dog scratch is a surprisingly complex problem sometimes. Do the common and simple things first. Treat for fleas and other parasites with a spot on called revolution. Use a good medicated shampoo (not malaseb and not within 2 days of using the spot on). Talk to your vet as allergies commonly appear at this age too. Other than that there are a thousand other things that can cause a dog to scratch |
