Sounds like a lot to me personally. But different vets charge what they will. It would not hurt to ask other vets even the RSPCA or animal welfare what they would charge or for advice.

Hi, rossue, I have 2 poodle X's & both have the onset of cataracts, one of them is becoming more & more night blind though.... My boys are 10 & 9 1/2 yrs, your little guy is quite young though, the price sounds about what I would expect, remember not all vets can perform eye surgery!
It is a very hard prospect of having a blind dog, but if the vet says that it will work & get quality of life back & of course you can find the money somewhere its a real option?

Hi... Our mate is a four yr old foxie who has unfortunatly developed cataracts in both eyes. they are obviously getting worse as he is bumping into potplants or whatever else, we also have a poodle and Jack (foxie) follows him around everywhere as his "guide" dog.
We've had him to the vet and he tells us approx. $1500 for each eye.
Has anyone had this problem and does the price sound about right? we've joked and said we could get rid of him and buy three more.. but of course...."NO WAY"
