| I had this problem as well. Try putting some pebbles in the pot. This will usually stop them as they can't scratch the dirt. It worked for me. |

Hey,
I had heaps of trouble with my dog going to the toilet under my dads bed lol. I got told to spray vinegar there. And it worked a treat. It gets rid of their smell. But you have to spray it again if they go there again :)
give it a go |

| Hi there. this is obviously a behavioural problem, and you say it started only recently. Has anything changed in the home, or in what the cat would recognise as it's territory? if another cat has been hanging around, or harassing your cat it can lead to behavioural changes. Perhaps she was caught short one day, and went in the pot? the thing is, the pot plant now has her smell, and she will continue to mark it and use it as her litter tray while it stil smells like her. you could try replacing the soil in the pot and cleaning the outside of the pot to get rid of her smell, and you may need to re arrange where your cats litter and food are. if the food is closer to the pot, she wil use that, so try moving it closer to the litter tray. Best of luck! |

Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop my cat using the inside pot plants as a toilet.
She has her own cat litter the good stuff mind you and is cleaned regular and is in a nice quiet corner of the house.
She has only started to do this in the past few weeks and when I am at home I watch and when I know she is about to jump and do her business I make my move and move her to the litter tray and she carries on with the her business. A couple of times I have not made it and let her finish so not to make a worse mess but this is driving me crazy. I have moved her favourite pot out last night to test her and she was happy to go back to the litter tray.. |
