Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows if you can have diet cordial? My Dr said I could have no calorie drinks but Im not sure if this means I can have it or not??
Also tinned diced tomatoes?....getting really sick of the veg and came across a nice soup, but it has a tin of diced tomatoes in it..... guess it's not as bad as eating a whopper with cheese...which is what I really feel like!!! :)

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
Mel,

Day two, biting heads off is to be expected! You'll find you'll get over it in a few days, just keep drinking the water and using whatever mantra gets you through.

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
soon,

The best advice I can give is keep focused on why you are doing it! If you feel overly emotional, or like you want to go on a bender, come here and vent. It's great for that. If you really want to eat, drink water, lots and lots of water. It really does help!

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
Hi Guys
day 2 of Opti for me and I know what you mean Ash, I have been on a total food bender for the last 2 weeks, my excuse saying good bye to old friends, eg: KFC, a whole loaf of hot bread and tubs and tubs of ice cream.
A bit edgy today and just about bit my families head off, hubby took the kids out for a bike ride so I would not kill anybody. I am used to about 5 or 6 cups of coffee a day so that is the hardest at the moment and we normally go out for Sunday brekky so avoided that today, might take some of the tips and add a bit of water, I find it too thick. Just munching on a piece of cucumber as I type, keep telling myself NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels.
I think I can....
I think I can....

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
J.bone,

There is a distinct difference between Optifast and Optislim. The nutritional and carb levels differ significantly.

If you want to use the soups from Optislim I suggest you talk with one of your surgeons team and see if they allow it.

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
Hi guys,

I am on day 4 of Opti-stuff, and i have been looking around for opinions on OptiFAST VS OptiSLIM - and have basically come to the conclusion that they are both much the same.

My question is, does anyone know of any issues with doing both at the same time?? I want to do OptiSLIM soups, and Optifast shakes.

Would this cause any complications that anyone is aware of? I am fairly sure they are the same thing and it should be ok but i just want to make sure.

Thanx :)

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
wjana,

You should only feel hungry for a few days until ketosis kicks in. You will also be grumpy and may have a whopper of a headache. Make sure to take painkiller for the headache. Drink plenty of water. And warn your loved ones that the next 3 days are going to be hard. You'll probably become a bit emotional too.

Once you get over the initial detox, usually about 3 or 4 days, you'll start feeling heaps better so hang in there.

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
Hey Soon2b,

if you DR allows sugar free treats try the DOUBLE D sugar free treats available from the Woolies and Price Line- they arent to bad for when you start to have cravings.

They fake minties, carmel chews and hard fruit lollies

They dont have any carbs =)

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
Soon,

Talk to your surgeon about it. They may allow you to take one day off the Opti for your birthday, depending on how soon after it your surgery is.

Re:Optifast Stage Reply to this message
soon,

I wasn't allowed any sugar free treats as they still contained a lot of carbs. Check with your surgeons team if they allow them and find out which they recommend.

You must be feeling pleased with such a great loss already.
I hope I can achieve a good loss too before surgery, but don't think I will be able to beat yours.
