| Pyretta, I have an aunty who lives in Bairnsdale and its a lovely place. Must say I'd rather be moving to Singapore like Mel. I lived in Penang for 2 years when I was a young teenager when my Dad was in the Air Force and we went to Singapore for a holiday. Such an amazing place. :) Toni |

Thanks Losingit! I knew you'd be pleased, LOL
Toni, Really that's fine and it's kinda ironic as my husband and I have discussed often moving to Bairnsdale. It's one of those places I really think i'd be comfortable.

Pyretta,
You are a star! Congratulations - I am so happy for you. Bloody brilliant. Long time coming - true - but you are now well and truly on your way. How fantastic for you.
So glad that things are now moving in the right direction. I was sure it would all turn around eventually and you would be on the road to proper restriction and some good weight loss.
Well done you. :-) |

| Oh well... maybe there will be one trip this year via Melbourne due to flights not being available when I need them... two nights maybe. Might need one to recover before flying again. |

Toni,
Thanks for the good wishes for the weight loss. It's been a bloody long time coming and I can't explain just how happy I am.
It's actually Banded Beck who travels to Bairnsdale to have her fill. She explains it here: http://au.messages.yahoo.com/lifestyle/lap-band/22 3407/
I have had my post location marked under x ray but have never needed a fill under a machine. Anna goes by feel and is usually pretty dead on.

| Pyretta, congratulations on your weight loss, you must be so proud. At the risk of being a computer nerd with no memory, I recall you saying recently you had to travel to Bairnsdale (was that right?) to get a fill because you needed a special machine to find the port? Did I understand correctly? I am just curious if that is the same kind of machine I had for my first fill shortly after banding when the doc couldn't find my port? If so, wouldn't they have had a machine in Melbourne? Sorry if I'm sounding vague, I'm just interested and inspired by you and your lapbanding journey. :) Toni |

I was thinking about that today too. As I went past the Open this morning on the train I was wondering if you were heading down for it again this year. *grins*
Where has the time gone? 1 year on and still discussing the same topics and issues LOL.
We MUST do it again some time this year, Hmm wonder if I can get to Sydney for a cheap night?

Bloody marvelous (can you tell I am watching cricket and listening to Richie?).
I think that is brilliant!!! All seems to be working now Pyretta. Alls well that ends well I think. Far out, it has taken a lot to get to this stage.
Now... do you realise that it is one year today since you and I had our mini get together in Melbourne, hasn't that time flown past.

Okay the verdict is in.
I went as saw Anna today and when I arrived was told there was an hour delay, so off I went for a walk and I finally got in for my 11am appointment at 11:50.
Anna asked about my eating and I told her how much her 1ml had made a difference. I gave her the example of lunch yesterday. I ordered a cannelloni from the local take away and ended up having half for lunch and the other half for dinner! Talk about a cheap shout. $5.50 for two meals LOL
She was really pleased and instead of going back on February 2 she has put me back until February 13.
Oh You want to know what the scales said? Last visit (22 dec) 170.4kg This visit (23 Jan) 166kg. Gotta be happy with that kinda weight loss this far into my journey!!!

Apple,
I am sooooo glad you found a way into the pool, and then on to a public pool as well! You go girl! Those milk crates were one of the best things ever invented. So strong and so versatile. LOL
I have 3 kids who wear "nerd" and "geek" as badges of pride, even if one is a goth nerd LOL
I am hanging out for the weigh in too, I am really hoping the scales have moved the right way, but we will see. All I know is I am eating a LOT less and feeling much happier for it. Even walking the dog has gotten a little easier. |

Cat,
There is debate, even within the kids of the difference between emo and goth, and I know I'll probably upset someone's definition but from what I can discern.
emo, wear mainly black, including black make up, and is never seen smiling in public. Some also include kids that self harm in that catigory.
Goth wear black but can mix it with red, white and purple, including makeup. Are allowed to smile and don't self harm.
And Apple is right, A ranga is a very derogatory term for a red head.

Ahhh..
The intrigue thickens. I had no idea how derogatory it was. The only contact with teens I have is up to 13 years old. My friend and I had discussed how odd it was that all the red head students were changing hair colour.
I thought emo was what kids called themselves, like gothic. That it wasn't a negative term. Hmmm..shows what I know.

it is ranga not ranger for red head, and it is a nasty term not a nice one. you are the lowest of the low in the school food chain, even below the emo's. Nasty world it is for teens I have a pair of 15 year olds. both are lucky enough not to have been stuck with any labels beyond my daughter being called a nerd, which she wears with pride.
I am so hanging out for Friday to see what those scales say Pyretta, I just know they are going to be going the right way. I finally got into our pool and you where right milk crates did the trick. We even went to adventure world here in Perth. like a LOT LOT smaller version of dream world and I got in their pool for a swim as well :) Okay the daughter did make fun of my choice of blue bathers and mentioned calling green peace about endagered species hehehehehe see teens I tell you ;)

Pyretta,
I've been meaning to ask this. I thought the word gothic was no longer used and the youngin's use "emo" ? Just wondering if your daughter identifies as a goth or an emo and if so, why? I find the lingo change really curious. My friend is a high school teacher. "Ranger" is also a common word these days (used to describe a red head). My teacher friend is herself a ranger and proud of it. Many of the red head students don't apparently feel the same way and have been dying their hair.

Yes Pyretta, finally (!) after approx 2 years!!
Oh well, no good rushing decisions like this.
I think I have always thought that I can do this myself, even though I wasn't doing it! If that makes sense?
I just thought I could diet and lose the weight without surgery, but 2 years later that hasn't happened.
I did lose 18kgs since my gall bladder surgery, and have kept that off, but will probably only be a matter of time before I put it on again, now that things in my life have settled down somewhat.
It all sounds good with you at the moment, apart from poor Jesse's legs! Goodness, how horrid for her!
