Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Well.

I must say i have really been thrown by what i have just heard.

I honestly thought people on here supported and trusted me, I was obviously wrong. I really don't know what I have done to upset people, I have only ever tried to offer support and advice.

Think I might just take a break from it all. I have enough to deal with and now this!

Pyretta,

It's okay I understand.

I seem to be upsetting a lot of people today.

I think I'll just crawl back into my cave. I didn't hurt people there.

To all those that my be a little confuse I apologize for posting under someone else's ID last night.

We had both been on the same computer and I didn't check to see that I was signed in before I posted. It was late and I was tired.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Janine,

It is very hard to even maintain weight over Christmas let alone shed the kilos so If you haven't added more than 4 kilos I'd say you are pretty much in front. You woes are just as valid as anything I am going through, especially of they are bringing you down.

At least I know my problems will be fixed as soon as they can be.

My port has also been damaged for the attempted fills so I will be having it replaced as soon as some free theatre time comes up .

It is a relatively simple procedure, it just sucks that I am having further surgery and I'll be out of the pool for another 6 weeks.

I understand what has happened and even how a/why and when it occurred so when i do get it replaced I will be taking it very easy for the first six weeks, if not longer.

Phillipa has offered her support and I am grateful for that, but I think I'm okay about it now.

Thanks for your thoughts and wishes.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Hi Pyretta,

I was just thinking of my own woes about not losing any weight over Christmas, and then logged onto this site after not being on it for a month or so, only to read about your problems with the port..... makes my stuff seem so insignificant when I put it into perspective.

I am really sorry to hear that this has happened to you after so much work and effort you have put into your weight loss and the journey that has gone with it. Have you spoken to Phillipa? She will be able to give lots of support in this area.

I hope that everything goes well when you see the doctor and that you are soon back on track and posting and encouraging around here again.

Good luck,
Janine

I don't mind sharing the techniques but I'll need an email address, it's a bit involved to go into on here.

Pyretta,

I'm so sorry to read about your port. How disappointing and frustrating for you, and after you've done so much hard work.

I hope you hear from the hospital very soon and it's all sorted out quickly so that band of yours can start giving you some help!

Sending you big cyber hugs in the meantime and wishes for a smooth road ahead of you

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Toni,

When you find the answer to that question you'll make a fortune, just be shure to tell me before you start charging LOL

You are worth all the help love and support you offer others and there is no shame in asking for it, especially from those who love you and those who understand where you are coming from.

It is a lesson I am learning so very slowly, but I am getting better.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Pyretta, that is so true about shutting out those that really care when we need them the most. I am one of those who do. I isolate terribly. I dont feel like I want to burden others. But I am the first one to help others when needed, go figure that one. Am I not worth it??? I know I am, I know I am, I know I am. I think I need my brain rewired! :) Toni

Suzanne,

Who was it that was scrubbing her bathroom for the plumber just days out from surgery?

Take it easy indeed!

Thanks for the well wishes and I'm sure I'll be peeling the kilos off as soon as this is all sorted.

Apple,

Thanks for being there this morning and passing the information on to Vikki.

I was out trying to life the spirits of another bandit who is feeling beaten by the black dog of depression too.

Why do we shut out those that really care when we really do need them the most? Us humans are a strange lot. Here's hoping I made her day just a little better than they have been.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Toni,

You sound like me jsut a few short weeks ago. I hope your appointment goes well and you get that motivation back that you are looking for.

If you ever want to chat to someone that knows all about that awful cloud of depression, mixed with trying to loose weight, you know where to come.

I have a visualization technique I use when things get really bad if you are interested.

Hang in there, we all know it isn't easy to let the light in when everything feels so dark.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Vikki,

I definitely will be the lady of the manor when I get home from hospital this time, that's for sure.

Applesauce has already mentioned the reason i was told to stop taking them before my Lap Banding. Who would have thought they were blood thinners. Anyway I don't want to take the risk of further complications so I have stopped taking them as of this morning. I just hope the back and knees don't start giving me grief with the increased activity.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Pyretta

Sorry to hear that you have a flipped port. It's very frustrating for you to have to go through all this after what you have been through before.

Yes, most definitely let your family run after you this time and rest and rest and dont overdo it. (Here I am advocating a full 6 weeks rest - no hanging washing on the line or carrying anything heavy or vacuuming). I remember my mother telling me many years ago (more than I would like to remember) when I had my first child that I should not do anything for at least 6 weeks afterwards - that we need to rest our tummies.

Take care and good luck

Pyretta better luck for next week :)
As for fish oil tablets they are natural blood thinners, so most surgeons do not like you taking them when they give you blood thinners after surgery. I came off mine but my surgeon did not mind me on them.

Well you keep your chin up too Toni!
All the very best with getting on top of things again.
I think about 'the oldies' from the board often as you were all so helpful and supportive to me along the way!

Keep your chin up, Pyretta. This is a small hiccup in your journey, and the fact that you've lost 0.8kg in 5 days is marvellous - congrats.

Keep us informed of your progress pls.
