Hi Pyretta
I see Audrey and you can wait up to 11/2 hours some times .My port sits on an angle and i have to remind her of it all the time also to use a long needle, but other wise Audrey is very good and nice to talk to. I dont go back untill May 26th had fill taken out last time think i need it back in now wasnt eating enough now rating to much and that was with only .01ml out its so little amount but makes such a difference .Hope you had a good easter and everything is going well for you.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
P!xie,

I know Anna is very busy and renown for all her appointments running late. My appointment last week was for 10:30am and I wasn't seen until just after 11.

I have only seen Audry once and she was okay, but needed Anna to find my port for her at the time, which is why I stick with Anna, considering the strange angle my port is on.

If you are comfortable with Audry I'd stick with her, but I really can't fault Anna and her level of care.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Thanks Pyretta! I will let you know how I get on at band camp.
I'm thinking I might cross over to Anna Korin (I currently see Audrey). Do you think it would be worth while or should I just stay where I am???
Have a great day!
Love,
P1xie xo

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
P!xie,

I have heard only good things about band camp and everyone I know that has attended it has come away even more motivated and feel that they have been empowered to work even better with their bands, so i really hope you too have such a positive experience. I have no doubt it will help you kick start even more weight loss.

Don't fret over the choccy over Easter, we all have a little, and with your son doing so well at the egg hunt I can understand the abundance. I know my biggest problem (Hot cross buns) still went down and i must have had at least half a dozen over the weekend.

Be well and enjoy your time at Band Camp!

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Hi Pyretta,
Firstly my apologies for the delay in replying to your post. This is the first time I have looked at the board in a while. I kind of over scheduled myself over the school holidays.
God I hope Anna is getting you finally sorted!!! If anyone deserves to be a skinny chick - it is you babe! God knows you have done all the hard yards and deserve it.
Still no more weight loss for me. I am still swinging anywhere between 82 - 86 kilos - I'm constantly going up and down. I went for another fill last week and that took me up to 8.6 mls. Would you believe still not much restriction and of course no problems with chocolate and chips (I know, I am very naughty but I will explain that to you later). I started to get really concerned that something was wrong so yesterday I took myself off for a barium meal. I'm happy to report that there is nothing wrong with my band - I just still don't have enough fill. Apparently, because I have had a lot of previous stomach surgery, there is a lot of scar tissue and my band is not overly sensitive. Hopefully this will be rectified and soon!
Ok the chocolate thing - I took little man to the Cadbury Easter Hunt on Friday and would you believe, he came home with 145 eggs! Then of course he got about another 50 odd over the weekend from various friends and the Easter Bunny! So the house has been absolutely full of chocolate and of course I just cannot resist! I swear I need to go into chocolate rehab. I have put on 3 kilos in the past week or so!!! I'm off to band camp this week so I am hoping and praying that they give me the motivation and inspiration that I desperately need. Love P1x xo

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Mel,

I haven't had a fill since February, unheard of me going without a fill for so long. Anna is convinced I never had restriction and the leak that was detected back in November last year was probably there since the port was replaced back in February last year.

The good thing about it is now the band is reacting as if I was only banded in November last year so my weight loss over this year should be comparable to that of a first year bandit. Fingers crossed Anna is right!

Did you get a fill, or just a weigh in. Sounds like a good loss to me. Keep up whatever you are doing.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
P!xie,

I'm sorry I didn't get to see you at the Avenue last week. I was there until just after 11am. I actually had a good visit with Anna. At first i was disappointed with my weigh in, thinking it had been 6 weeks since I had been there, but when Anna pointed out that I'd actually shed the 2.7kg in 3 weeks, not 6, well it looked a lot better.

I hope you and yours had a happy and safe Easter. we went for a drive though a lot of the bushfire areas yesterday and it was both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Seeing some of the plants starting to sprout back into life and also some people beginning the rebuilding process. yet seeing places tat were so devastated that they haven't had any sign of life there, and houses where their owners have perished and so the ruins are still just lying there. I drove home with a lot of mixed emotions.

P!xie,

It's good that life is so busy you don't get a lot of time for the boards so don't apologize. I think it's great!

I'm sorry we won't get to meet up at the Ave, but then again they have been so busy lately, never say never LOL.

Have a wonderful holiday and i really hope we can meet up soon.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Hi Pyretta,
Yes I'm a slacko these days. Unfortunately, life is a bit too busy and I don't get too much time to look at the boards. I'm going well but like you my progress is slower than some although hopefully I am starting to feel some restriction.
Unfortunately, my appointment is at 1230 so I will miss you!
Have a happy Easter and take care!
Love,
P1xie xo

Hey P!xie,

I haven't seen you post for a while, I hope all is going well for you? As for me, yeah I can't live without some sort of drama in my life LOL *rolls eyes*

I'm scheduled to see Anna on the 9th at 10:30am. I'll probably get there around 10am depending on how the trains are running.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
i used to get v bad attacks when i had red meat and fat ie bbq meat, chops.

i think its something to do with the gallbladder releasing its stuff to breakdown the fat in the food you just ate.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
I wonder seeing as the pain went from front through to back if it was infact your gall bladder... the tomato sauce would have definitely tickled it up... dunno... maybe, maybe not....just sounds plain nasty tho

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Thanks for the advice everyone and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the things I eat that might trigger and attack. I

was wondering if a home made rich tomato sauce may have been the trigger? I'd had home made bolignase sauce the night before and nothing to eat at all the day of the attack.

I'll be taking note of everything past these lips for a while now until I figure it out.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
BINGO Pyretta... that is what it might be. I now don't suffer of course, no gall bladder... but by jingo's, it sure is horrid nasty pain that makes you nauseous and all that you have described. My first attack was years ago and left me feeling like I had done 1,000's of sit ups... awful. It passed but then came back to bite me in the butt 18 months ago. As you know, my gall bladder is now gone... yay!!!! It was full of stones and very inflamed.

Think about what you ate that day, and the evening before and see if you can isolate the problem. For me... it was brie... eeek!!! Still can't eat it to this day.

Look after yourself and if you have the slightest pain/spasm again, get thee to the hospital where you can get yourself scanned.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
Pyretta
I had my gall bladder out 28 years ago after a very bad attack. I can remember the pain was right from the front to the back. I can still remember it now. I was camping with my extended family and had to be rushed to echuca hosp. I had been dieting for quite a while and the doctor said sometimes if you eat something with maybe a bit more fat than you have had lately it can start an attack. Maybe it is similar with the band and even something just a bit different triggers it. I hope you feel better and find out for sure. Sorry to ramble

Take care.

Re:PYRETTA Reply to this message
judy,

I actually had someone suggest to me today it could have been a gall bladder attack and yes I do still have mine. I must admit I hadn't thought of it but from the descriptions I heard of a gall attack it may have been just that.

I've been taking it very easy since. Trying to think what might have triggered it.
