It is so awesome that you are excited about your band. You've done your hard time for the band and now it is time to get down to the nitty gritty.
Fantastic news, Pyretta.

Thanks for the support everyone.
So far so good. I have still had to sip everything all day today, no gulping or guzzling. I can't believe the difference! I'm not hungry, haven't been all day. I got a little peckish while I was baking, but I think ti was just the smell of the cookies. LOL
I'm satisfied on less than a cup of pureed fruit, or mushie mash, which is all I have had today (as well as water)!
I can't believe I am so excited about restriction! I haven't felt anything like this since I was first banded, I'd almost forgotten what I was looking for. 14 months is a bloody long time but fingers crossed the journey has started.

To whoever reads this with a sense of humour,
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the summer solstice holiday (or the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere), practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2009, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make Australia great. Not to imply that Australia is necessarily greater than any other country. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

Jules and Apple,
Thank you both for your Solstice Blessings. I spent the afternoon with some people I have been avoiding and actually had a good time.
I suppose an update is in order too.
I went this morning and had an Xray of the new port, OMG my husband wants to know if it picks up High Def television. You can see the 3 wire mounts he has used as well as tubing going everywhere. What surprised me the most was he has added extra tubing, you can actually see the join.
So I went to the Bariatric Centre, xray in hand and target placed on my tum. Anna had a good look at the xray and then had a good feel around. Both her and I felt the port lower than the drawn target, but being cautious she put the needle in at the target. A bit of poking and prodding, back to the xray and a few more pokes and she took the needle out. Again she felt for the port and we both felt it lower so I told her to go for it and bingo, straight in! I don't understand why the target was so far out but I trusted her to find it and she did.
I have stopped taking the antibiotics for now, but at the first sign of redness or inflammation I've been instructed to get back on them ASAP, so I have a packet here, just in case.
I am actually feeling restriction like I have never felt before. I am having to sip everything, even water, and I'm on fluids until Christmas eve. I do finally feel this journey is underway. I must say I'm feeling more positive today than I have for a while.

Hey Pyretta
I'm not sure if I remember correctly from last year that you celebrate the Summer Solstice, which is generally today or tomorrow, so if you do "Have a great day". I celebrate both the Solstice and my birthday on the 22nd.
Thanks again for your story and always interesting facts on your thread, until 2009 - all the best

Sallie,
I'm glad the protien blend filled you up! I found it a bit too tomato(ey) so blended in a can of braised steak and veggies and it was divine after sooo long on Optifast. I certainly craved the savouries.

I have broad shoulders and a wicked/sick sense of humour and both have been made use of plenty of times - centainly is great way to get through life and help others do the same.
Sallie
PS Tried your idea with baked beans and soup last night and it was yummy - I had been waking up about 3am each morning guess it must be like feeding a baby after the soup was the first time I slept through the whole night |

Geez,
Thanks Col, Tatts and Sallie.
When I keep getting support like this is it any wonder that I still have faith this is going to work?
You are all my inspiration to keep at it until I get there and if I can give you all at least a smile or a shoulder along the way then it's worth it.

I'm only new to this group but have spent quite some time reading the older postings to get a better handle on the whole banding story
You have shown yourself to be a very caring person a mentor to many and able to offer sound advice to all
I wish you everything you wish yourself - you have earned it.
Good luck with the fill
Have a great Christmas and New Year
